I've watched Fitzsimmons and Ketchel in a lot more detail than previously and I've concluded both easily have the talent to compete at the top level in the MW division, I know not everyone shares that opinion but let's see how people view this tournament. 12 rounds of action, same day weigh in. I've tried matching each as tough as possible, from my point of view anyways.
I see the winners of round 1 being Fitz Ketchel Tiger Toney Round 2 I see going Fitz Toney James taking the prize as he was better at everything Fitz did, barring the power (even that's debatable). But as far as plant footed defensive wizardry goes these two are the MW kings, I just give Toney the edge in speed, timing, accuracy and shot selection based mainly on him beating better quality fighters.
I think steele might end up being bad for fitz, I don't know on that one. the winner makes the final over apostoli. tiger vs toney, close decision but tiger will be playing to toney's strengths even if he's scoring points too. steele over toney. toney vs fitz, who'd have the advantage in hand speed? not sure but I pick that guy.
