we will see the shot mosley against mayorga in this fight... his win over margacheato was over-hyped. margo was mentally disturbed coming in to that fight coz he was caught cheating.

mosely is old... he was outboxed by cotto who is nowhere near floyd's level in terms of technicality.

    1. Yes. Margarito lacked any elite level defense. He ate too much LOOPING (aka telegraphed) right hands.

    2. No - assuming you don't have him in your top 20 ATG.

    3. Mosley of now? Yes. Mosley of 10 years ago? No.

    4. Resume wise? Yes - ODLH. Talent and stylistically? No.

    5. Positive. They seem to have a good rapport and he is proven be tactically insightful.

    6. Pass his prime - except for Forrest. The dude just got his number.

    7. Yes. Assuming he does not eat as much punches as Marg.

    8. Depends on performance and results.

    1. Are we reading too much into Mosley’s knockout victory over Antonio Margarito?

Yes. He looked horrible prior to that, and hasn't really done anything spectacular, unless you think beating Vargas was something special.

    2. Is our perception of Mayweather skewed by his perfect record?

Not really. Mayweather gets about as much credit as he deserves, which isn't a much as he thinks he should get due to his 0.

    3. Has Mayweather faced anyone as good as Mosley?

The Mosley of now? Yes...the Mosley of the early 2000s? Probably not.

    4. Has Mosley faced anyone as good as Mayweather?

Yes. Prime De La Hoya, and Winky Wright

    5. How significant is the addition of Naazim Richardson as Mosley’s trainer?

Remains to be seen. Naazim is no miracle worker...Hopkins would have beaten Pavlik even if he hadn't had Naazim.

    6. What are we to make of Mosley’s five losses?

More significant than people think. He lost twice in a row to two different guys...I mean come on, he is obviously very beatable.

    7. Can Mayweather handle Mosley’s power?

He doesn't have to prove it often, but PBF has proved in the past that he has a solid chin. See The Judah, Corley and De La Hoya fights.

    8. Will the winner supplant Manny Pacquiao as the No. 1 fighter pound for pound?

If PBF KOs Mosley, it would be hard to argue against it, but all in all, there is nothing either man can do to warrant usurping Pac at no 1.

I wasn't trying to act like it was my own...I was actually gonna write a disclaimer, pointing out that these weren't my questions, but it would have added more clutter to an already long thread...plus, I figured that with all of the boxing fanatics in here, they'd already know.

No, It was a great victory, but I it doesn't mean much in regards to fighting Mayweather

No, Many people think Mayweather was beat by Castillo, I don't think the 0 matters near as much as how damn good Mayweather can fight.

This version of Mosley, maybe, I would say the version of Oscar he fought was close.

Yes, to a point... The Oscar Mosley beat was as good a fighter as Mayweather but in a totally different way. Forrest and Wright were also hard fights for Mosley style wise, but for sure would not say they were as good as Mayweather is.

I am interested to see what Nazim can do to help Shane.

Mosley's 5 losses mostly came from stylistic advantages mostly, and he was well on his way to beating Cotto, just ran out of time.

Mayweather can handle Shane's power in my opinion, but If he is hit perfect you never know. Shane certainly has the power to take him out, but I think he will have a problem hitting Floyd.

I think if the winner wins big, he should take Pac's number one spot. I know that is pretty controversial, but the pound for pound king has not always had to lose to be temporarily dropped from the spot.

No nazim in the cotto fight. Say what you want about the margarito fight but the bottomline is nazim had mosley looking sharp and he kept him focused the whole night.

If you say NO to 5 then your opinion is thrown right out the window.
