ACE HUDKINS vs. RODRIGO VALDEZ; fresh off his come from behind KO of APOSTOLI, Rodrigo starts out of the gate like Secretariat at the Belmont. Before he knows it, Hudkins is knocked down 4 times in 2 rds. The bell saves him at the end of the second and he is dragged back to his corner where ammonia capsules revive him. In the third, Ace staggers Valdez w/ a trio of body and head hooks. Seeing Valdez wobble brings out the feral side of Hudkins and "just like Bruce Banner becoming The Hulk", The Nebraska Wildcat has arrived to the bout. For the next 4 rds, Aces ferocious attack almost drives Rodrigo out of the ring. Valdez cannot figure tge angles he is being given and every time he breathes, he exhales into Hudkins hair. In the 10th, Valdez comes off the ropes with a 6 inch right hand and Hudkins is down! Before Rodrigo gets to the nuetral corner, Ace is up and halfway to him. They commence a two way exchange of power punches that ends with a right hand over the heart that drops Valdes in his own corner. Gil Clancey is apoplectic at the sudden turn of events and has a stroke at ringside and falls over dead. Valdes has his own problems at the moment and rises to meet a lefthook to the temple that puts him back down. The bell rings amid bedlam. BEDLAM!! Valdes' other trainor Howie Albert pours ice over Rodrigo s head and down his trunks to revive him. The bell sounds, Ace sails into Valdes and has him on the deck in seconds. On arrising to an immediate HUDKINS combo, Rodrigo puts all his remaining power be hind a left hook up and straight into the nuts. Hudkins falls over in pain. The ref begins his count. By 9, Ace is up and Rodrigo attacks. Before he gets two punches off, Ace grabs him in a clinch. Working the laces to Rodrigo s scar tissue, Ace opens a cut over the right eye. The bell rings with both fighters playing defense, protecting eachs problem areas. Thenext rd, Ace has come out to do or die. He catches Valdes in his corner as he gets off the stool and stuns him with a left hook followed by a left and right to the body. A crushing Cornhusker headbutt lays open wide Rodrigo s cut eye. Hudkins, who by this time is a rabid animal, punches EVERYWHERE with both mitts until Valdes goes down and out for the night. Just as referee Gunboat Smith hits 10, at ringside you here announcer Sal Marchiano yell, "GOOD NIGHT, SWEET PRINCE".

MARVIN HAGLER VS DICK TIGER; Hagler, fresh off his sensational KO of Tony Zale three weeks earliier comes out on point against an aggressive Tiger. The more Tiger pressures, the harder Marvin s jab whips into him. Bwap, bwap. Tigers face is turning into chopped meat from the power in Marvelous s jab. Tiger has no answer for the footwork and side to side movement of the southpaw. With Tigers head pinned to his jab, Hagler , begins to throw and land 3 & 4 punch combos in the 5th round. Tiger, dizzy from the constant peppering is able to get no worthwhile work done and by the 10th is coming apart fast. Hagler sees Tigers distress but takes his time and sticks to the fight plan. Finally in the 13th, it is over. Tiger can take no more as Hagler s combinations drive him to the ropes defenseless and wilting. Referee Art Donovan wraps his arms around a battered Tiger as Hagler is lifted onto his handlers shoulders.

I can see Hagler outpointing Tiger ,stopping him? NO .Tiger would have crucified Antuofermo who gave Marvin all he wanted.

I don't see Bennie Briscoe ko'ing Tiger....it would have been a war...far more so than Tiger's bout with that other bald guy Carter, but no kd's would occur IMO.

Great Post!! You should be a promoter Morlocks! At 160 with the rules in place I have Haglar as the last man standing. The cool thing about this post is there really isn't a wrong answer. If my dad was still alive he would say Dick Tiger would be left standing in the ring surrounded by a bunch of 160 pound corpses. My Grampa would go Lamotta for sure.

    JAKE LAMOTTA VS MICKEY WALKER

Both men come running out of their corners to face each other center ring, clearly riled up from the nasty trash talk beforehand.

Lamotta takes the lead early. His consistent and educated left hand somewhat controls and pacifies the more sporadic Toy Bulldog. At first.

Walker times and spring in a terrific leaping left hook, catching Jake square on. Fortunately for his chin and underrated defensive skills, LaMotta stays put, but one hell of an exchange begins, with both men dodging and landing with abandon. Their bloodlust clearly deepens as the rounds go on, with fair and foul alike mounting on each man in which even the referee struggles for control against two stray dogs.

LaMotta continues to educate Walker in the art of the left hand, however the passion of Walker cannot be denied, his fiery heart and two fisted power allowing him to close and and slowly grind LaMotta to the body and finish up to the head, where Lamotta remains to the end retaliating with fierce, jolting body attacks also.

Both men continue until a groggy end. Ultimately, Walker takes a heartfelt decision in a bout that demands a rematch!
