Good post. He and Camacho were my top two fighters I studied and used there styles when I was a amatuer.
Thats tricky to claim as Margo has one hell of a chin, I think Curry hit hard enough to get a stoppage by some means.
Yes. Curry hit a great deal harder than Cotto, and would be countering the **** outta Marg. Margarito has an excellent chin, but I dont think its granite. A granite chin is Hagler, Toney, and Chavez. Margarito's chin can be cracked, by Curry at least. Hearns, and Tito would have cracked it also.
I wouldn't go that far but I'd be surprised if there were half a dozen welters in history that you could say would clearly beat 1984-1986 Curry. Of the guys I've seen.....Hearns gives any WW fits, Leonards all round game would beat Curry and Napoles was an exceptional boxer/ counterpuncher and might well be too good for Curry but I think they'd all get in (or damn close to) most peoples top 10 ATG welters.
No. Curry loses to Leonard, Hearns, Gavilan, Duran(the one that beat Leonard) and maybe Napoles. On his best day though, he beats every other WW besides those guys.
He's quoted you where you've mentioned Robinson, so I'd guess he means Robinson plus the guys he's listed?
I agree with this list and MAYBE toss Emile Griffith on it too. Griffith before the Paret tragedy was an incredible Welterweight.
