And I can't think of many things more painful than a follow-up Frazier hook through the guard. This would happen more times than not if and when Frazier slipped Tyson's setup jab. Once this happened 3 or 4 times, Tyson would get frustrated, abandon his jab and start headhunting...it would then be a matter of time before '69-71 Frazier broke him down.
Tyson would need to KO him early, I can't see him lasting a long battle against Frazier. Too little chance IMO, I'd put my money on Smoke.
Mint post, i only give Tinkerbell a 10% chance to stop Smoke in teh first 6 Rounds, before he gasses.:tired
9.5 years later. Some interesting old names I vaguely remember. Funny how people assumed "If Frazier could withstand the initial Tyson onslaught and get by the first 3 rounds - then Frazier has an excellent chance of winning late in the fight!"
I honestly feel the same way. The problem is the early rounds, Joe was such a slow starter. I'm positive Iron Mike couldn't knock him out, but Joe might do the jack-in-the-box a few times. Two things Joe would have going for him are lack of fear and rock solid resiliency. Mike might get a bit spooked seeing Joe take a beating and/or knockdown yet keep slapping his gloves together and coming back. I can't pick it for sure either way but yes my friend, either Mike in the first 3 rounds or Joe in 9 or 10.
Its possible definitely. Joe had the mentality of a PitBull. He actually enjoyed combat more than anyone i recall. If a prime Joe Frazier were to stand up and fight the same style as he did vs Quarry 2.
Frazier doesn't survive anything, he suffers the same fate as his son. Tyson by KO in under 5 rounds.
Apart from Tyson (who clearly wins IMO), Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe, the Klitschkos, Fury - all beat Frazier.
No it isn't, cause in the video game Frazier actually stands a chance. In the real world, he doesn't.
That is Joe's best chance. It would be a matter of how much if any damage Tyson gets done. Even if Joe gets past it no guarantee he would win. Frazier being the same height could possibly give Tyson a look he didn't normally encounter. IMO Tyson won't be able to read and avoid Joe's hook He would eat his share. Tyson could put both hands, more explosive. Still pick Tyson but there is that quality that Joe Frazier had, a presence that he had..Tyson coudnt Intimidate him. Joe was more at home and happy in the ring than anywhere.
