bowe liked to brawl, was great on the inside and had no discernible defence, but a great chin...it all comes down to how hard mikey hits and how good bowes chin is.....tyson never was a one punch ko artist, it was speed x power x accuracy x volume with him...i doubt he would catch bowe with a barrage of shots...i think mikes come forward bobbing weaving style is made for bowes infighting prowess and would expect bowe to stop tyson around the 8th round in an exciting give and take war....
Tyson Bowe has little to no defense and could be hit at will. Tyson for an infighter had very good defense . Tyson by late Ko or wide ud .
Bowe by late round ko. This was no Pinklon Thomas. You all haven't seen the best of Bowe and Mike wouldn't be able to keep up with him. Besides, who ever knocked out Bowe?
Considering Bowe fought exactly 1, count it, 1 puncher of genuine HW power in Herbie Hide...that's a bit of a hollow boast. He got rocked to his boots and floored by Holyfield, wobbled by Biggs, hurt and staggered by Hide, just plain mashed to bits by Golota...you don't think Tyson can knock him out?
This is a horrible matchup for Bowe. His defense was average and he got hit quite a lot in most of his fight against contenders. If Tyson is able to land regulary you have no chance of winning. Bowe is a good inside fighter but Tyson was incredibly strong on the inside and clinched so they couldn't get off punches. Bowe gets hurt by Tyson in the 2nd, or 3rd round and Tyson finishes him.
I don't see why people would favor Bowe. Bowe avoided the divisions big punchers and was not great defensively or extremely durable.
its possible tho i've never seen it done. 88 was a good year for mike but i knew little mike spinks was no match for him so i'm not influenced into thinking he was any better than he was the year before or the year after. Mike didn't look so good in the Smith fight or the one he had with Tucker and Bowe, neither of them in the same class as Bowe.
Tyson absolutely dominating the voting. I wonder if this fight happened in January of 92 would the voting be closer.
If Bowe wasn't durable why didn't Golota take him out. The 88 Tyson would beat Bowe but it would be by decision.
How about a 91 Tyson v. a 91 Bowe? Result any different? I imagine the voting would be closer but Tyson would still take it clearly
