88 Tyson vs 92 Bowe

Holyfield won by clinching a LOT. He was very selective in when he traded with Tyson, smothering Tyson up close. He was smart in the fight, and he later said that his losses to Bowe helped him learn to not get so brawl happy and to know when to trade and to pick his spots.

The older Holyfield lost some physical gifts, but was smarter than the hot-head who brawled way too much for his own good.

I don't see Bowe doing that, his defense sucked, his temperment was to trade. Bowe was one of those big guys who was actually better on the inside than outside. That can spell doom for either man IMO. Tyson was always susceptible to the uppercut, as Bowe had a terrific right uppercut, and Tyson had a tendency to be lazy on the inside. On the other hand, Tyson could still be deadly on the inside or when he came in, with his speed and power and accuracy.

Tyson is my pick, due mainly to Bowe's crap defense.

Holyfield beat Tyson by outlasting him and then finishing him when Tyson was tired. That Tyson was not the same Tyson were talking about here that killed Spinks, that Tyson could fight 12 hard rounds. That logic rarely works anyway, the old if Fighter A knocked down Fighter B and lost to Fighter C, imagine what C would of done to B! Foreman would never of beaten Frazier then.
