A shell was probably a little OTT, Ive not seen the Baldomir or Piccrillo performances in full. Ive seen a highlight reel of Baldomir (who I dont rate anyway) and the Quartey fight. In turn Ive seen the Quartey Wright fight, and also the Quartey Phillips fight. So thats where me thought process is coming from. The two beatings he received against Mayorga were pretty draining, not less because he thought he was unbeatable before the first fight (imo), so mentally draining more than physiocally. Fly out on Thursday mate, I'll probably see Al on friday as Ive got seats fairly close to the front for the Murray fight.
From what I gather Forrest dominated throughout the fight with Piccirillo who had not previously been stopped in his pro career (over 50 fights) so to stop him for the first time is impressive. Apparently Forrest would like a further rematch with Mayorga. Think his only losses have come against him - stopped in the first one and majority decision for Mayorga in the second. If Forrest gets his wish we may see a trilogy.
Picrillio may not have been stopped, but michael jones proved he was very very beatable. Piccrillio caught Mayorga at the right time in that he'd just been pasted by trinidad. he has some okay wins on his resume (the best the robbery v spinks) but at 37 its no surprise forrest stopped him.
