Based off of Fleas 10 Greatest bantamweight thread. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/the-10-greatest-bantamweights.616459/ Who wins between Zarate and Rose?
As much as I like a boxing master like Rose hes facing a tall rangy punching machine in Zarate who has legit legendary power at this weight. I cant see Rose escaping Zarate for the full 15. If he does he certainly doesn't mount enough offense to win. I think he would be spending too much time trying to survive then to be able to mount enough offense to win. Rose was able to narrowly beat Harada but were talking an older 5'3 5'4 Harada not a 5'10 monster punching prime for prime Zarate here. I think Zarate catches and finishes him at some point.
Although Chucho was more technical than Zarate, I still think that Zarate would be able to get his digs in. Rose hit the deck against Chucho and Sakurai (a non-puncher really, although he apparently dropped Olivares too) and Rudkin managed to get close to him frequently. Yeah, I’d take Zarate. Probably get his head boxed off but as long as he can establish his jab at some point (he wasn’t stupid by any means) I think he can get enough strong punches in late to get the stoppage.
Rose is overlooked because he fought Olivares on Olivares best night. He was a classy boxer and massively underrated. Having said that I think Zarate patiently takes him apart with a come from behind KO sometime around 10-12 rounds.
Thk you friend. Zarate by Ko in 7 at the most. He'll hit him where he lives. Plus up top w either hand. Crushing puncher. Make that KO in 5. Before the ending rd 5 bell ends. Eat it fleabag
No. I insulted him because he said Carlos wasn't stupid and acted like actual boxing was foreign to Zarate, one of THE great boxerpunchers. Are you his SANCHO PANZA????
I ain't no squire, and Flea is excellent at reading a bout. He was stating Zarate's intelligence in comparison to Rose, who was known for his IQ.
No, I've actually read Don Quixote ages ago (not finished it though). I stopped reading it for Steinbeck.
The Sound and the Fury we are indeed. Steinbeck was terrific. Live now The Grapes of Wrath. Lololololo
