kelly was clearly out on his feet for 2 minutes of the round showing little to no defense, his legs were wobbly and not underneath him, what a disgrace to the sport

No, he was wobbly, but not out. Smoger was right to let the fight continue. Watch Cotto-Torres - Cotto was in much more trouble and the ref let it go on.

That Pavlik survived the round and thrived for the remainder of the bout, shows what an excellent judgment Smoger has. We need more refs like him. No disgrace here, just a superb decission and your ***** boy drama.:drama

i give credit to pavlik, he totally destroyed taylor in round 7 but i think when a fighter isnt protecting himself or doesnt have his legs under him the way pavlik did, it should have been over

A stoppage is used to protect a fighter that cannot continue. Obviously , Pavlik could continue and went many more rounds then brutally Ko'd Taylor. Your claim is pathetic.

You are a fuccing joke. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

MAYBE 1 out of 50 would have stopped it. Maybe.

Go play in traffic somewhere now and leave the rest of us educated boxing fans alone. :hi:

Sour grapes. Smoger did what more refs SHOULD do - he didn't panic and wave it off too quickly. There are WAY too many quick stoppages in boxing.

Had Pavlik took a brutal beating in the 3rd round, and was out. Then we would of known Smooger should of stopped the fight. But evidence shows Smooger clearly made the right decision, as Pavlik was competitve for the rest of the fight (even won rd 3) and won the fight.

Having not seen the fight yet, I oddly still seem to think I have an opinion on this... given that Pavlik won the next round on all judges' cards and JT wasn't able to close the deal and - can I believe I'm typing this? - Pavlik went on to win... it strikes me that stopping the fight would have been a disservice to the sport. No?

First of all, you are undeserving of having a Ray Mancini avatar. Secondly, this must have been the first fight you've ever watched, because you obviously don't know what you are talking about. Don't disgrace Youngstown, go get a more feminine avatar.
