The early wars he had in the lighter weights took so much from him. Amazing what he did in the higher weights. He beat Diaz. Maidana fight was a Draw the last time I watched. Either fighter winning was fine. The first Garcia fight I never judged I was pretty drunk watching it the first and second time.

I remember how everyone wrote this fight off because of how shot Morales was but no one expected him to turn back the clock. That fight was one of the best moments of Erik Morales' career since going southpaw against Pacquiao in the first fight. He showed why he was a great fighter and was able to hold his ground against a bruiser like Maidana who nearly KO'd Khan one fight prior. Probably his last great performance despite losing a very close fight. I had it either a draw or Maidana barely edging it.

This was also the same card when James Kirkland lost in shocking fashion against a pillow puncher Japanese fighter who was expected to lose, followed by a good fight between Katsidis vs Guerrero where Katsidis famously shouted "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!" only to get beat by Guerrero. Great night of boxing.

 

Love maidana and had it a draw at the time. Great fight. I thought the judges were going to give it to morales based on him defying the odds/sentimentality.
