To be fair, AJ was going the same path while he was a belt holder.

OK. so which top contender Wlad didn't fight? I'm not talking about Vitali cause he was fighting second and third tier heavyweights.

That was the weakest stretch of Wlad's reign, thats for sure. But it was only 2 years out of 10. We need to remember however, Thompson was the mandatory challenger by the way of IBF and Leapai was a mandatory contender by the way of WBO. But defences against Mormeck, Wach and Pianeta were laughable indeed.

He beat Haye convincingly. No need for a rematch. And when do you see a window to fight Povetkin for the second time? After the first fight he fought his mandatory, Pulev, who was his number 1 contender, Jennings to get into the WBC scope to challenge Wilder and then Fury as his mandatory. Ortiz wasn't there. He got into the Top 10 only after defeating Jennings. Before that he was a no name. And that was after Wlad lost to Fury.

Wilder admitted to ducking Joshua and AJ literally signed to fight Fury. So why you lyin? Why you always lyin?

He wanted to die when he was ducking Usyk for two years? Interesting.

After AJ lost to Ruiz Wilder beat Luis Ortiz, lost to Fury twice, beat Helenius and lost to Parker & Zhang. Hell of a resume, for sure.

Fought an old man in the dullest fight in history and bottled the rematch

Props for the win, but wlad from around the time he boxed Haye would have battered Fury

It's easy to forget the fact that just because Wlad didn't throw any punches doesn't mean Fury threw any either. The only landed punch from Fury I remember was the one he threw when Wlad had turned his back (during the rounds 7-10 iirc). That was the fight winning punch.

Fury threw 100 more punches, landed about 30 more, so he won in a dull chess match, but he won clearly.

Thank goodness Wlad's awful reign was over. I give lots of credit to Fury for this one.

Wlad is majorly underrated on this forum

He's the best heavyweight this century, or at least from lewis who had most of his reign in the 90s

Usyk of course rates higher p4p, but Wlad was the man for a decade and it takes great consistency to defend titles so many times

I was not a major fan of his style, but he transformed his style to protect his weakness and it takes a lot to come back from the early knockout losses to become a super champion

Wlad deserves a spot top 10 for sure

Fury and Aj beat an old fighter past his physical prime, while they where in theirs

    Wlad is way above both

And then he almost ruined boxing by almost losing to an MMA fighter making the sport we love look like a joke to casuals and MMA fans were laughing at us.

Wladimir lost to Fury at 40 years old after 20+ championship fights Fury hasn't even fought 1/4 of the championship fights Wladimir has and let's see Fury take on a dangerous contender at 40 years old and see how he does.

And Fury isn't too far off it either. Only three years away.

He saved the division by winning a horrible fight and throwing 8 punches a round

Fury is done. Usyk is knocking him out. His career ends next month.

If Usyk beat Fury by throwing 8 punches a round and Fury pathetically lost like Wlad it would be unforgivable.

It's the difference between being 39 and 40. Don't get salty over your lack of accuracy.

Fury-Klitschko was a horrible fight and we can’t really credit Fury for “saving” anything when he didn’t fight for 3 years after beating Klitschko.. but at the same time, it’s always nice seeing a disgusting human being and the most boring heavyweight champion of all time Wladimir Klitschko embarrassed in front of his own fans.
