Disagree. Yes he was cool to watch, but he stood in no mans land far too long when there was quality opposition just north or south of him. I was very critical of RJJ during his fighting days, and it wasn't until he got KTFO that he started to grow on me. As a commentator I love him.

If Roy and JCC Sr. were the same size the later would spark him out cold. Hell, I'd even bet heavy on the 135lb JCC Sr. sparking out a prime Roy.

You're not necessarily wrong. JCC does usually get ranked higher on the ATG list than RJJ.

JCC should have lost to Whitaker who was smaller than him and comparable to rjj

Well there were always fights that we (the fans) wanted to see but they never got made. There are not many fighters after the 90's that were facing anyone on their way.

Some fighters take less risks than others. RJJ spent most of his prime not taking big risks.

For me it was RJJ and then probably 2nd Whitaker who was was robbed of what should have been his crowning achievement, being the 1st guy to beat Chavez

I think he was the only one outside of the big 4 to sneak in there at one point.

I thought that was just before he lost to Roy Jones though in 1994 not 1993.

I've looked online but hard to find a definitive source.

Going by numbers & not opinion -like a computer tabulating :
    JCC
    1990 come from behind stoppage vs 24-01- Meldrick Taylor + 3 stay busy fights vs Mr. Jack Nobody I, 2 & 3 & KyanDuhk-Ahn? 29-2.
1991 (5) fights notable name I know is Duplesis for a title bout.
    1992- (5) fights Hernandez 37-0-2 & Camacho 40-1

    Whitaker
1993 (2) fights. McGirt & Draw with JCC
1994 (2) fights Cordona rematch with McGirt
1995 (3) fights notable name Vazquez 53-1 that loss was by DQ.

    DLH-
    1997 (5) fights Gonzalez 41-0, Whitaker 40-1, Kamau , Camacho & Rivera (all 5 were titles defenses)
1998 Charpentier & rematch with old guard JCC

RJJ has other stated didn't clean out MW, SMW was decent
1996- fought Sosa, Lucas Brannon, & McCallum is the One notable name who began in 1981 & retired in 1997 ending with a 1-3 record. He beat an old guard.
1999 he beat Frazier & Johnson.

Based on emotion/opinion JCC was most durable of the 4. Whitaker most skilled. Jones most talented & DLH had most title defenses against consistent competition.

    Based on numbers
DLH brought in the most money to the sport.
Beat the old lion (JCC) the new lion (Pea-even though it was controversial).
His win over Camacho who had gone 3 years since a loss (Tito in 1994) & after DLH, he wouldn't lose again until 2003 which IMO made DLH's win over him legit Hector.

As a computer I'd say DLH.
Personally I'd say Pernell- it could be stated he got jobbed on his JCC & DLH fights (these are more meaningful than anything RJJ did in his 2 years as RING-King. Plushe took out McGirt & Vazquez beating a varitey of styles.

    By the numbers it's DLH.
    Personally it's Pea!
