    Middleweight, Heavyweight americans from 90s vs 80s which had better talent.


    80s middleweights: Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Nunn, Iran Barkley, Frank Tate

    80s heavyweights: Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tucker, Pinklon Thomas, Michael Dokes, Gerry Cooney, Michael Spinks, Trevor Berbick, Mike Weaver, James Smith, James Douglas, Tony Tubbs,

    90s middleweights: Roy Jones Jr, Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Michael Nunn, Gerald McClellan, William Joppy, Reggie Johnson

    In the 1980s there was an astonishing arrray of very talented heavyweights.Very talented
    guys like Michael Dokes,Tim Witherspoon,Greg Page,and Tim Witherspoon.
    They probably had more raw talent than the 70s or 90s guys.But for various reasons
    ( Don King's corruption ,drug abuse etc ) they wasted their God given natural gifts.

    80's HWs and 90 MWs. Quite clearly in borh cases. Prime versions of Holmes and Tyson are hard to beat. And if we're talking talent no one shades RJJ imo. Hagler was the greater MW, absolutely, but in terms of talent it's Roy for me. And Toney and Hopkins weren't exactly slouches either. Especially Toney was outrageously talented.
