In the 1980s there was an astonishing arrray of very talented heavyweights.Very talented guys like Michael Dokes,Tim Witherspoon,Greg Page, and Tim Witherspoon. They probably had more raw talent than the 70s or 90s guys. But for various reasons ( Don King's corruption ,drug abuse etc ) they wasted their God given natural gifts.
Nice overview! 80's HWs and 90 MWs. Quite clearly in borh cases. Prime versions of Holmes and Tyson are hard to beat. And if we're talking talent no one shades RJJ imo. Hagler was the greater MW, absolutely, but in terms of talent it's Roy for me. And Toney and Hopkins weren't exactly slouches either. Especially Toney was outrageously talented.
