    It mentions in a video I have that Steve Robinson was the worlds highest paid featherweight, prior to fighting Naz.

    I know in the 90s I actually made the effort to go to fights, and I was not on a great wage. I know I went up to Mason/Lewis on a Wednesday night with a £100 and a £30 ticket and came home with change, it was never that expensive to watch fights and have a few drinks, in them days.

    Perhaps that is the difference between now and then, and why boxing has become detached from its previously strong working class routes.

    Oh right. I just remebered reading an article, in the sun I think, on Kev Mitchell about when he was having money troubles and it said something about a few fighters being paid a small monthly wage and your name popped up. Probably not the first time the press have printed a story that isnt 100% accurate :roll:
