A very large proportion, possibly around 90% are more, also need to work day (or night) jobs as well. It costs the best part of a grand a year just to get in the ring - medical, brain scan, blood tests, BBBofC licence fees, etc, and you only get paid when you fight. And the pay is WAY lower than what most people expect. Usually related to a percentage of how many tickets the boxer personally sells. Unless you're one of the few "stars", boxing is a VERY hard living financially, trust me.
