Subjecting the Ali that fought Leon Spinks to a fantasy match-up is a little bit cruel. :verysad

I go with Foreman. I don't think Ali had the legs or the strength to keep Foreman off of him like he did in Zaire.

Ali was a sitting duck. Foreman would KO him.

Ali should not have been anywhere near a ring in 78, he was already displaying symtoms of parkinsons, should've called it a day after the trilla or before then

foreman actually improved technically and would give Ali a bad beating with the towl thrown in or Ali KO'd

The Ali of Spinks II demonstrated consistent mobility over the long haul, although he was clearly misfiring. He was able to maintain a faster pace than I think the Foreman of the 90's would have matched over 15 rounds. He demonstrated the previous year with Shavers that he was still an extremely tough customer, athough the firepower he once had was gone. Boxing smartly, I think he'd manage a decision win here, by controlling the action from long range, clinching in close, and dictating the movement within the ring. Yanking down on Foreman's neck in Kinshasa drained George tremendously, and Archie Moore pinpointed that tactic as a key factor in Ali's win. Muhammad would have always resorted to this technique against this opponent.

In late career, George could win on the scorecards with an efficient and effective jab, but he was never going to compete with Ali in that department. Muhammad would absorb some cruel punishment in this one, but it wouldn't stop him. If Foreman couldn't stop him, he couldn't win.

Well if we move it up a little. Say the Ali who fought Norton III & Shavers. That's a better version.

It has been mentioned that Ali was already exhibiting signs of Parkinsons
in 1977. I still think an in shape Ali of '78 would dance around Foreman
and win a decision. I do agree with Ali's Parkinsons situation that he shouldn't have been fighting past '77.

I think a 90's Foreman would crush a 78 version of Ali. Foreman by tko in 5, Ali's corner rescues him, as Ali would be too brave for his own good.

I think this Ali does well.

The Ali of 1980 gets beaten badly.
