    Buster Douglas vs Frank Bruno

    Razor Ruddock vs Oliver McCall

    Shannon Briggs vs Ray Mercer

Who wins in these fantasy matchups? Feel free to comment on who you feel is the best of the 6 presented here. Obviously we're basing these fights off prime versions of each fighter at their peak/best performance witnessed.

I'd actually be curious to see the 270 pound man-mountain Briggs who crushed Lyakhovich and was winded throwing 10 punches a round against Mercer.

Douglas did far better against Tyson than Bruno did. Mercer had a better jab than Briggs, McCall would beat Ruddock because he knocked Lewis out only a couple of years after Lewis knocked Ruddock out, McCall had a better chin and if was trained by Steward like he was against Lewis they would have studied a sloppy Ruddock vs Tyson and Lewis. The best fighter out of this bunch was Buster.

The best Douglas TKOS Bruno in 10. The Holyfield-Version gets KO´d by Bruno brutally.

In 90, Ruddock wins a decision over McCall.

In 1997, Mercer didn´t have enough left for Briggs, who wins a UD.

Best Briggs vs best Mercer would be hard to call for me, rly don´t know. I think Briggs had a solid mandible vs Lewis too and deals just more damage than Mercer.

    When was prime Briggs?
I think was when he was young, so if wilson could knock him out i dont see why mercer not

Excuse me, it was 98 when he fought against Lewis, and exactly two years after the Wilson debacle. In my opinion, he matured there. What a beating that man could take without ever getting counted out! I´ve seen the fight like three times and it always gets me wonder what was keeping Briggs up.

Thats not the same Briggs that Wilson exposed so easily.

That said, both Briggs and Mercer were pretty bullet proof. I think that extra power in both hands that Briggs brings to the table might make the difference. But aint no problem for anybody voting for Mercer.

4 months before the fight with Lewis, Briggs had been humiliated by Foreman in the steal of the year, Briggs fought scared the whole fight.
I doubt that in those four months something has changed, what is certain is that Briggs did better against lewis than Foreman . i really dont know when was his prime

I believe that this fight would win the one that can achieve the highest concentration throughout the fight. the 2 are irregular. I do not think that the one who hits hardest wins

I largely agree. The foreman fight would be exciting to watch.

This match exists and is available on YouTube, but Mercer is not prime.

Huh. I'd forgotten that the shot version of Mercer actually fought Briggs.

I suppose I'd just sort of discounted everything Mercer did post-Klitschko.
