I ask this question because I'm really starting to like Lennox Lewis
I noticed that while he was dominating in his fight with briggs, he kept getting up. I remember reading somewhere Holyfield said Bowe hit harder than Lewis
Which got me thinking about this one. I believe Bowe could sit shannon on his ass for good.

    But let's discuss this :bbb

Bowe hit harder than Lewis?? Not sure about that. I'm sure Holyfield personally liked Bowe better than Lennox, and also had a victory over Bowe. So that might have played into him saying Bowe hit harder.

Bowe v.s Briggs would be action packed. A brawl wouldn't take too long to break out, but Bowe puts him away in 5-6. Bowes chin would survive the early storm and his size, strength and superior skills would put Briggs on his face or a*s eventually. Bowe tko 5 or 6

Bowe knocks Briggs out easily. Much better boxing skills, better boxer overall. Can't imagine Bowe losing to Francois Botha or 50 y.o. Foreman:yep like Briggs did.

It would end like Lewis - Briggs, in 5 rds.

As for punching power, well, Bowe knocked Holyfield down 3 times, Lewis failed to do it once though both hit Holyfield with their best shots.

On the other hand, Bowe couldn't stop Golota by KO, and dropped him only once, while Lewis Ko'd Golota easily.

I'd say that both are top-level punchers, Lewis had sharper right hand (straight right I mean, both had very good uppercuts), while Bowe's left hook might be better.

Bowe would naturally be the favorite but his porous defence may spell doom against a guy with 30 career 1st round KOs. Say what you want about Briggs, he is very dangerous for the first few rounds before his asthma starts kicking in.

If Bowe gets caught early like he did against Hide, he'll be in serious trouble.

You should also specify what version of Bowe we are talking about. If it's prime 1992 Bowe then yeah he probably beats the breaks off Briggs but if it is 1996 Golota version than I would favor Briggs.

Im gonna go against the grain here and pick Briggs by early ko.

Biggs was a fast starter, he has a high number of kos in the 1st round, Bowe to me always seemed asleep/lazy in the first rounds. That's all Shannon would need.

Cooper and Hide did give Bowes somethibg to think about, i think Briggs could do the same.

Obviously if Briggs doesn't beat him quickly, then Bowe will beat the **** out if him

You overestimate Shannon. He NEVER in his life KOd Top 30 HW early. Maybe you are talking about Bowe from 2005? I agree then.

Bowe all day long, just a better all around fighter...

Bowe stops him in under 10 rounds...

Its more due to Bowe being asleep in the first round, he did this vs Hide and Cooper...on another day against another puncher, it could have gone horribly wrong.

I highly doubt Briggs would do that to Bowe, because Bowe had pretty good chin and great heart.

Briggs would've had chance to win by early KO against other champs who are chinny and are slow starters (like Weaver or Moorer), but his chances against Bowe are close to Zero.

Remember that Bowe never was knocked down in Cooper and Hide fights, though he was hit hard.
