No he doesn't. Vargas couldn't deal with the hand speed of Tito,Mosley,Oscar and you expect him to deal with the ultra hand speed of Terry who Vargas wouldn't be able to hit.:-(

Vargas had a huge heart but I think Norris was much faster and hit much harder ... Vargas was not the one shot guy to wreck Terry either .. Norris by mid round TKO ..

Magi, Norris dont need to waste movement by moving right and left like Ali or Leonard. That approach is too base and crude for TN and was mostly to thrill the Hollywood types whenever they showed up for a big fight.

TN can stay in front of an opponent, score and get out of range but it's not like he needs the whole ring just to move. Could be why TN was so successful. BTW, whoever said his chin wasnt up to par dont really know anything about TN and is just rehashing old wives tales

Vargas definitely hit hard enough to wreck Norris. Also his chin is much better, Norris would have to fight a disciplined fight here if he goes in trying to bang out Vargas he would end up getting blasted himself, thats why Vargas might take the first fight and Norris learning his ways cruises to a convincing win in the 2nd fight. Norris might hit a little harder but not much seperating them. Vargas didnt have the best chin but much better than Norris.

You kidding me...Fernando "Punching Bag to the Stars" Vargas would get manhandled. Almost every elite fighter he faced wiped the floor with him.

Vargas is extremely flat footed and one dimensional, Norris would box fkin circles around him and spread abuse from pillar to post. Think of Trinidad-Vargas except lasting half as long.

Oh like Winky and Quartey? He gave ODLH and Tito all they wanted both of who probably get by Norris. He was past it when he fought Mosley the 1st time and still gave him a real tough fight. This isnt as easy as you think:nono

I don't see Vargas as that type of puncher. Norris proved he could fight in a controlled rage. He was the faster fighter and the harder puncher. I think he hit much harder, not a bit. I happen to like the young Fernando and believed he showed the heart of a lion in his loss to Tito, a fight he almost won on numerous occassions. I just feel he would be outclassed by Norris.

Vargas never stopped a world class opponent in his career. Norris has a BIG edge in speed and power of Nando as well.

Iceveins good to have you back as our guest. Everything you said is true-this fight is no contest and no, there is no threat of Vargas of even getting Terry Norris in difficulty. there was some poster here earlier in the thread saying "Well, I dont know...you never know about Norris' unreliable chin"

As much as l like Fernando, he is way WAY out of his league here

Quartey and Winky, his 2 signature wins...Vargas wasn't even sure he won the Winky fight when it was called, and Winky was a FAR different fighter when he fought him. His best win is easily Quartey.

He gave DLH all he can handle? Yea maybe for the first few rounds until Oscar showed him what an elite fighter does - after that it was academic, he had Vargas beaten and confused for the rest of the fight. As for Tito, he had his moments but if you look at that fight as a whole, it was not close. He was drubbed in that fight.

Vargas is not a great fighter...a good one, yes. He is not in Norris' class whatsoever. With Vargas' flat feet and susceptibility to the left hook, Norris would have him out of there in 6 or 7 rounds.

What are you talking about? Campas,Marquez were in or close to their primes and Champions or former champs at the time. What about Wilfredo Rivera who was robbed agains Whittaker the first time around and nearly beat a prime Shane Mosley. Tony Marshall,Shibata Flores and Ross Thompson were all world ranked when Vargas kod them. 22kos in 26 wins and you dont think he was a puncher:huh:verysad

Id like to know your definition of World Class.

Norris would be the favourite for sure, but anyone that is honest with themselves has to at least give Vargas a punching chance. We're talking about a guy that was spaghetti legged from a past prime welterweight's jab FFS.

I wouldn't in the least be surprised if Vargas won, even though my tip would be Norris ko9 in a fast paced shoot out.
