Seeing as both are getting there share of limelight lets have prime Carnera v foreman who battles holyfield.???
Old Foreman would be in his element vs Primo, he really would be. If you had to choose champs old Foreman might beat Primo would be right near the top.
What's that got to do with beating Carnera? Who did young Foreman beat at world level before decimating Frazier? Who is to say Old Foreman's era wasn't stronger overall and deeper than Carnera's? Do styles not play a part in boxing?
Old Foreman has a chance here. Carnera is not going to stop him either thru raw power or workrate. He's sure not going to muscle him around. Latter George threw a decent straight right hand and Carnera was a real target for right hands, even looping ones. The question is whether Carnera can move enough and outwork Foreman. He takes plenty of stopping and older George might not be able to string enough together to get him out of there. It's a great match actually.
Its been going round in my mind since the old foreman thread s appeared tbh. This isn't as one sided as first appears to be honest. It would be interesting to see how foreman deal s with a guy like Carnera at that point in time. I'd like to ask people who think primo wins, how they see him doing it. It's not Carnera bashing, just curious as to how they think it would play out.
It's a close fight. Carnera would have to try and outwork Foreman and fight quite conservatively. Old George was good but far from great.
And use every bit of that height advantage as well. Every time Foreman gets with in range tie him up. I'm not sure foreman ever fought any one like primo, unless you count cooney.
George Foreman’s accomplishment in winning the lineal title at the age that he did, is one of the greatest accomplishments in boxing history. Having said that, he was one of the more marginal lineal champion's in history at this point. If you look at his record against ranked opposition, he generally either lost, or won controvertialy. That is the kind of fighter that Carnera would deliver against!
Bald Foreman was a very clever guy. He might just be far too clever for Primo. I mean so clever as in not taking this fight. George when he had a bald head, was extremely shrewd. I mean so clever. He really must have watched boxing for ten years from the distance of being outside the sport with the inside knowledge only a champion can know. He considered everything. When he returned he was wise beyond his own years. He knew to concentrate on his strengths. To concentrate on advantage. Adapt to enhance what he had. Experience, raw power and size. The novelty of being old. Foreman knew his capabilities. He knew a match well made is a match half won. He was wise enough to use his celebrity to make sure he never entered into a fight that wasn't already half won. He determined this by using his vast knowledge. If he gave away speed that was okay so long as he had the size, the strength, the seasoning and experience. He never gave away size because he no longer had the speed to overcome size. Wether we think he would have won or not, Foreman turned down Anders Eklund as an opponent. He refused that fight. Nobody could convince him to take it. Eklund was a big man and Foreman would not take any chances. Now if Foreman turned down Eklund who Bruno and Witherspoon both walloped and was knocked out several times,,,why would he take on a prime Primo Carnera? It doesn't matter if WE think he could have won, nothing would make him take that fight.
At this point im positive you are trolling, you provide as usual no real substance to the actual match up here and VERY uninformative if any legit points, you and chok lab are neck in neck in the ( dont know very much) race.............LMAO/ LMAO/ LMAO...had to show that X3. Also i would go for bat for Dino dummy bc when you ban that guy you get rid of a village idiot that makes forums run,we NEED them. lol
