RJJ was untouchable and would not going to nearly anyone at that time at that weight

In 94 Jones was one mean dude who was putting some real hurt into his punches as evidenced by his fights against Pazienza, Thornton & Brannon. He was a total beast at 168 and gives Calzaghe a torrid time for 12 rounds. Give Calzaghe his due, he was no slouch and was tough and game. He may have made it thru to the end but more likely at that time he would have got stopped or pulled out by his corner. It would have been a good tear up for the first few rounds but once Jones got the measure of his man then it would have become increasingly one-sided until the end.

Calzaghe would be to Roy what Kessler was to him: An opponent who actually challenges him and gives him a fight. Calzaghe reacted to being hit hard with more immediate, intense aggression than any other fighter I know of. That alone and his non - stop workrate would make him a difficult opponent. Because of his other - worldy athletic gifts, Roy wins but it wouldn't be a walk in the park.

shot, old blown up smw Calzageh beat the **** out of a near prime RJJ, Johnson comatised a prime RJJ, RJJ ducked Calzaghe in his so called prime twice, Montel Griffin, the 5ft 7 midget gave Jones hell, who do you think?

    dumb question, dumb poll voters.

Cal was 37 and his chin had been gone since the Kessler fight.
And he clowned around and beat the stuffing out of Jones without breaking a sweat, Had he been in his prime (along with Jones) he would have broken a sweat but still beaten him.

Jones wasn't drained against Tarver - it was just the first time in years he had fought someone with a pulse. Jones=overrated.

In 1994, Roy Jones near enough shut out p4p#2 James Toney, and in doing so overtook Pernell Whitaker as the recognized world p4p#1.

In 2001, Joe Calzaghe fought Will McIntyre somewhere in Denmark.

These two guys are incomparable. Jones is superior in every way. Calzaghe's wide-open defence would be tailor-made for someone with Jones's speed, power and accuracy.

    Jones TKO rounds 7-12 :good

Jones UD, in one of the most easiest nights of his career.

I wish people would stop trying to put Calzaghe on the same level. Prime for Prime he can't f*cking touch Jones! He was superior in every way imagineable.
