'96 Roy Jones vs the Super Middles today?

RJJ is the best ever at 168 IMHO. None of these guys can beat him. He was the perfect blend of all attributes.

Yeah i expected some cheeky responses. Calm down! If you read what i said properly then you would understand that i don't see anyone beating 96' Roy. But the thread asks Roy v Current crop, and i give an opinion, you know them things that people tend to have, and my reasons. Froch would be the only one i would give a chance too, and it would'nt really be a chance at all. You see!

Was it his close points defeat to Kessler. Not really being exposed is it mate.

 

Okay man, I got too personal, my bad. The point is, Froch is being overrated something awful right now. Not that I hate Froch, it's just something I hate about ESB. Go check out the Froch vs. Abraham threads before the fight, everyone had Froch "the bum" knocked out before the fight even began (everyone except for Jack, a few other Brits and BoxedEars), and now I have to hear about Froch being the best at 168, a future ATG, all that ****. Bunch of sheeple really.

Me too. I got 3 dvds = Middle, super-middle and light Heavy of Roy's best fights. I will now be digging them out on sunday.
The fight, i can't remember who it is against, were he throws about 5-6 left hooks in the space of a second is one of the most unbelievable things i've seen. In the same fight he asks the ref if his gonna stop it! The ref does'nt respond, so Roy immediatley KOs his man with a thunderous left hook. Superman!!!

 

You got to give him his dues man. You saying all these people had Abraham to smash him, but look what happened. Plus look at his record and level of competition over the last 3 years! And he ain't afraid to travel. He is not a fighter to disregard has nothing. I'm not saying he is a future ATG, leave that to other people and see what he does with the rest of his career first. But he is a tough, hard two time champion with power and a winning mentality. His got my respect big time.
