If Tyson lands cleanly it's goodnight for Jones but could even catch him?? Would Jones who could and would land often hurt Tyson and wear him down late??

Every possibility, because Tyson was easily deterred after a few rounds of getting hit often by that time. He would probably just stop "trying " to win and count the money in his head.

Ruiz was able to catch Jones and stun him in the first round, I have no doubt 96 Tyson that went 11 hard rounds with Holyfield could catch him too. Jones wouldn't have been able to tie Tyson up like he did Ruiz. Tyson kept throwing bombs late into Holyfield 1, I have no doubt he'd catch Jones and knock him out

Tyson wasn't hard to tie up at any point during his career.

if Tyson lost, it would be from a mental breakdown. James Toney would match up a lot better.

Getting frustrated and disheartened at not being able to land on an opponent isn't a mental breakdown...

I don't see a 200lbs fighter that had trouble tying up the clinch machine John Ruiz having a lot of success tying up a 96' Mike Tyson

I think this would have been a bridge too far for Roy. But I think Roy could definitely have beaten an 00's version of Mike.

I think for a start, Tyson cut off the ring better than anyone Jones ever fought.

Any version of Tyson knocks Roy Jones out. And in the first round.

Tyson would probably get to Roy and stop him early.

A case where the size difference and power would be too much for Roy.

Superiority as a fighter can overcome size....but there's a limit.

Here is Tyson throwing " bombs " 6 years earlier at the plum Stewart, AFTER he had already KD'd him. So accurate he managed to fall over. Yet he is going to catch Jones with these same kind of wild swings?

More likely is he just gets bored / frustrated after 3 or 4 rounds and fouls his way to a DQ. Personally I'd love it if he did flatten Jones, but it would take a lot more finesse than that.

Just how is Roy going to deal with the dirty tactics of Tyson? If they do clinch or roy even tries to tie him up--how is he dealing with a forearm to the throat or getting clipped while the ref seperates them or all those things Mike will do when they come together?

Roy fights fair and wants an opponent to do the same. Mike Tyson is not playing that game. And he's going to try and hurt Roy in there. So is he complaining to the ref? He'll get hit trying to do that.

The only way I see Jones winning is via dq and he'd be busted up bad to arrive at that juncture. First off, the ref may not be on his side like the Ruiz. I think its more like the Saverese bout and Mike even punches the ref. With no consequences. Tough tough factor to deal with let alone the effect of absorbing Mike's punches.

Between 1995 - 2002 - Tyson was only beaten by ATG Holyfied pumped full of juice.

That version of Mike was still a force and would destroy every Heavy post Lewis , never mind Jones Jr.
