A 14-year old fan's terribly inaccurate top 50 list

I think that as students of history, we are impressed by Calzaghe in a head to head sense, but we see him as having a thin resume against genuinely elite opposition.

At least compared to many of the other men on your list.

 

I love Calzaghe, but I consider him more a borderline top 100 guy.

 

I would respectfully suggest that the following fighters be considered for a place on your list:

Bob Fitzsimmons
Tommy Ryan
Terry McGovern
Barbados Joe Walcott
Panama Al Brown
Abe Attell
Johnny Kilbane

Of course if you want to leave some of the older fighters off, simply because you don't think that we know enough about them, then there is nothing wrong with that.

Not that bad of list I have a feeling it suffers because of your actual time spent watching boxing you can’t cover all bases if you’ve never seen a lot of boxing. For example having Canelo and so many heavies in your fifty tells me you haven’t been watching for that long now.

Stick around if you truly like boxing there is genuinely a lot to learn here. Posters such as @janitor and @BitPlayerVesti are excellent for there history keep an eye on there posts.

I’d suggest you don’t get swept up in the fantasy debates though it’s mostly a load of nonsense truly.

 

You bring hope to the future kid. Most don’t know who 95 percent of that list is. Although some would argue with the order it’s extremely impressive that you know as much as you do.

 

Ross should be way higher imo. And Fitz needs a place near the top ten.
