Why did Tony Thompson, Jameel Mcline, and Derrick Jefferson all similar in height to Wlad look like such garbage against him?

Their height works in their favor, but their talent is key to their success. What if Larry Holmes was fat? What if Joe louis had no punch? What if Tyson was 6'6" and thin, instead of 5'10" and stocky?

Disss. Vitali would still be a top contender and maybe world champion but certainly wouldn't dominate the division. However wlad would be ****ed

They would have a different style, they would be faster and more coordinated, so it's pointless to speculate.

But since it's obvious what the purpose of this thread is, I'll have some fun. A few more scenarios:

Wlad has an iron chin, would he dominate?
Lewis is 5'10'' 190lb, would he have dominated?
Holyfield has a glass chin, would he have dominated?

    Exactly.

Tyson being 6'7" how would he have done?

Who knows... he certainly would not have been as explosive, and training a much larger frame is much harder. Everyone works with what they have and there are advantages and disadvantages to different sizes.

    I like your swagger. :good

  9. I think they would be much better. Far faster and harder to hit. Like a more disciplined version of Tyson. Quite frighting really.

vitaly has a good chin so he would be able to make some noise. wlad wins because he is allowed to hold so exesively much and that would be impossible for such a little guy so he would lose half of his fights by scary ko's

Interesting post, I think your analogy of Tyson is intriguing for a few reasons.

1st, you are saying that a skilled smaller man can be very successful and height and reach is not as large a factor as more naive fans think (style and skill is as if not more important).

2nd, Wlad might have the fluidity to fight like Tyson but he would not have the chin . . . while the opposite is true for the older bro.

3rd, if the fought like Tyson they could see out a phone booth in North America.

4th, they more than likely retired a long time ago because it is harder to fight as a small man and you do not have as long a shelf life.

For me if they fought like Tyson, it would not be scary at all because neither guy would come close to the proper mix to be Tyson. They would still dominate this **** era and be 10x more popular now. Their ******ed fan base would not cry about the "Eastern European" being oppressed (I always get a kick out of that one). They Might have some explosive KOs instead of wearing people down.

What if, we take away other fighters attributes?
What would Tyson be like without his speed. Let's say he moves like Butterbean?
What if George Foreman had the punch of Zuri Lawrence and Ken Norton's chin?

You see, a lot of fail

If you reduce their size its safe to say their handspeed and footspeed goes way up which is already exceptional not just for a guy their size.
Wlad would have rediculous speed if you reduce his size so it works both ways.

Both are students of the sport and train very hard so i think its safe to say that if they were 6.2 220ish they would be freakish athletes in their own right and fight accordingly.

The reason they are succesfull are not all about their height and weight advantages. They have lots of skill and lots of dedication and that's why they are succesfull.

Fighters are made from an will and through that will comes skill. It's always been like that. They would have been succesfull either or.
