Donfack saw his career-best majority draw against fringe Polish contender Dawid Kostecki overruled this Monday by the respective Council of Professional Boxing Federation of Russia. Having carefully studying the videotape of the Kostecki-Donfack bout, which took place on the October 13th Ibragimov-Holyfield undercard, and well as the referee's and judges' reports, the PBFR ruled that the referee Victor Panin was totally erroneous in not scoring a knockdown at the end of round seven. So the final verdict of that bout is now a unanimous decision in favor of the Pole. Fightnews scored that fight 78-73 for Kostecki, who is now 25-1, 18 KOs, while Donfack slips to mediocre 6-6-3, 1 KO.[/FONT] Here are highlites from the fight... [YT]6aofQj_uLQM[/YT]
The reason it was reversed has little to do with the quality of the decision. It damaged a potential source of revenue.
