That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard and shows that you never seen McCallum fight or never seen Toney fight in his prime and you also never seen Toney/ Jones vs Griffin/ McCallum.

5 years and two weight classes above were Toney beat the GREAT McCallum clearly the first time Roy Jones fought McCallum and had a hard time with him. So a fight between Jones at 160 vs McCallum that fought Toney would be very close and McCallum might even beat him. Secondly Hopkins would have all he could handle himself because McCallum is just as smart as Hopkins is and almost as great.

And in the first fight between Jones and Griffin, Montell was making Jones look silly for the first half of the fight until Griffin's weak chin got him into trouble because of Roy's big power. Also Toney CLEARLY beat Griffin twice and was robbed in both fights you ofcourse wouldn't know that cuase you clearly never seen either fight.

Also Hopkins wouldn't look that great at 175 vs a prime Griffin.

If you don't like Toney fine but don't talk about things you clearly know nothing about and the way you talk down to a fighter like Mike McCallum shows your lack of knowledge.

Julian Jackson, Milton McCrory, Donald Curry, Sumbu Kalambay, Herol Graham, Steve Collins, Michael Watson and Jeff Harding. No run of the mill fighter beats all those fighters and most of them while past his prime.

You should watch them too instead of just going to boxrec and seeing the result. The fights were much different then the judges had it.

    Hopkins about 8-4

Due to the same reasons many people have already said.

    1. You are a boxrec *****.

    2. Toney wasn't in his prime when he fought Johnson or McCallum he was still green. The man only had 25 amatuer fights and he fought Johnson only a month and a half after he beat Nunn.

    3. Besides losing the first 3 rounds Toney dominated the fight and hurt Johnson several times. Also Johnson is a southpaw and Toney has alittle trouble with southpaws ALSO Hopkins IS NOT a southpaw so you comparing the Johnson fight to how a Hopkins vs Toney fight is meaningless.

Both are great fighters ATGs and locks for the HOF but prime for prime Toney was the better fighter head to head and would beat Hopkins. He has a better defence then Hopkins, he's a much better inside fighter then Hopkins, he was faster then Hopkins, threw more combos then Hopkins, hit harder then Hopkins.

Toney UD 7-5 close but clear.

I love Hopkins but he is also one of the most dirty fighters ever and Toney on the othe hand IN THE RING(meaning how he fought not the riods) is probably the cleanest fighter in the history of the sport and I can't remember him being even so much as warned for anything during a fight let alone having a point takin away. Hopkins on the other hand low blows and headbutts fighters. And clinches alot.

But he clearly did have problems with those guys, then again who didnt.

I think that point is moot anyway seeing none of those guys really fight like Bernard.

This would be a close one but I'd have to go with B Hop.

I think Toney handled Griffin and Johnson. Aside from the first 3 rounds vs Johnson. And Griffin I think I scored the first fight 8-4 for Toney and the second 9-3 Toney. Yeah Toney had a little trouble with both but so did every fighter they ever fought. And like you said none of them fight like Hopkins.

And it's funny that 1 judge scored the second Griffin fight 11 rounds to 1 for Griffin. I wish I could get whatever that guy was smoking. Judges should really be drug tested

Sure you didn't score it 120-108 for Toney?

Toney twice failed miserably to deal with Griffin. It must hurt the Toney nuthuggers more than ever . No wonder they try convincing themselves Toney was robbed twice.

No 8-4 sounds right. If you ACTUALLY SEEN the fight you would know that. I think Harold Letterman scored the second fight something like 10-2 for Toney.

2 of my favourite fighters of all time up against each other. It's hard to pick a winner as both are great fighters but I'd favour Hopkins.

Both have similar strengths, great chins, great counter punching, ring generalship, inside skills and superb defence, but approach it in very different ways. It comes down to who will be forced to lead as both are counter punchers and prefer the opposition to come at them. Can Toney slip Hopkins punches from range or can Hopkins box from range, land and slip away, forcing Toney to lead and chase.

I see it as a very close fight. Hopkins isn't anywhere near as fast as Jones so will find himself being countered when he does lead but he has great foot work and mobility and that will be the deciding factor. Hopkins is great at taking away his opponents strengths and is too smart to fight an aggressive fight like he often did in his prime he will box move and get in close to smother Toney when he does get inside. 7-5 Hopkins.

Toney was too stationary in all stages of his career. Hopkins would use his superior footwork and faster feet to outbox him to a clear UD, 10 rounds to 2. Look what Montell Griffin did to Toney and multiply that with 10.

Lose 17 out of the 24 rounds they fought????

10 to 2??? If you think Hopkins will win OK but you are trying to tell me Toney will only win 2 rounds???
