Also JT has faster hands than Bhop and by god he has a better right hand with more power as well. As if Bhop will score at will against JT. You ****ing nutsacks.
Bhop was defeated by Jermaine Taylor's jab. JT did nothing in the second fight but jab double jab. Nothing fancy. No precision accurate punching. No movement.
Trinidad, obviously. Nobody claimed he'd be on his bicycle the entire fight, as I clearly stated that he'd be able to hold his own on the inside as well. Both Jones and Nunn stood their ground often in fights, they just combined their inside spurts with lateral movement in between, as Hopkins does. The difference is that Hopkins has a much more set, balanced gameplan than a lazy under-achiever like Nunn, who was beating Toney prior to getting careless. In fact, Nunn generally got the better of their inside exchanges as well. Toney was very much a plodder when forced to take the initiative and pressure, which he was never good at unless he was facing a guy like Tim Littles. Hopkins is clearly the better out-boxer and mover than Toney, to assume he needs to get in on him to put in work just shows what I originally pointed out, that you're clueless.
He was defeated by his movement combined with the jab, neither of which are strengths of Toney, which makes this another inept comparison. The fact that Hopkins waited until the second half of the fight to get going also cost him, as he was conserving energy early on.
This is what you get when you get teenage boxing "fans" and youtube mixed. See if you were around during that time you would know that JT was just the better fighter during the early 90s. JT was KNOWN for his defense and counterpunching while hopkins was not a defensive wizard he became later on in his years. Hopkins did not or does not have the reach hand speed of either Nunn or Roy to get in and out against JT's great defense. He would HAVE to get inside to get it done. JT would not have to walk a younger prime Bhop down. Bhop would come to him. And NO..lol Bhop did not beat Trinidad with his legs and movement you dumb ****. He used it real early then he beat his ass on the inside. I suggest you youtube the fight again.
That's probably because Toney was in his prime while Hopkins hadn't even made his mark yet. Sharpen up your memory if you're going to try to pull that kind of bull****. He doesn't need to fight solely on the defensive or on the move, I never said he did. I said his outside advantage will compliment him well when combined with the fact that he himself was a defensive genius and great on the inside. Toney was nowhere near as good when forced to take the lead as he was when the opponent came to him, so regardless of whether or not Hopkins stays on the move (he wouldn't need to) he'll be able to more than hold his own at Toney's game. We're not talking about a matchup between the two in the early 90's, we're talking prime for prime. Are you that thick? I've seen the fight, he used a combination of lateral movement, in and out flurrying, and crafty inside work when he closed the distance. And once again, this fight is prime for prime, so we're not talking about a young, pre-prime Hopkins here you stupid ****ing ******, get a clue.
