I really dont believe in that statemenet. I think it means more on how you comeback after a loss, not your career hasnt started

you can't say that about everybody. at the end of the day, it depends on the mental state of the boxer. roll over and die or rebuild

It says that they were too good for the opponents they faced. Mayweather had tough options to challenge but he wanted to protect his 0 so he took shortcuts when he was able to afford it. A loss would have been great for someone like Mayweather because if he had a loss he would have fought everyone without worrying to protect his 0. His 0 is what brings the big money fights, for business/advertising that 0 IS an attraction, especially when his style his defensive and not too appealing to the casuals(that generally don't understand what he's doing) that 0 becomes necessary.

It depends on the fighters thought process and the manner of the loss to be honest.

There is no rule without an exception(s).

Yeah I can see how it's somewhat confusing, but you have to realize that Pac has 3 losses already. His career was "started" early in his career. And even Pac said that the loss actually helped him because he was getting too cocky with all his early wins. Had Floyd gotten that loss like he should have against JLC, I'm sure he would not have been so hesitant to fight the top WW's. What a shame, now all he does is worry about his 0 which means absolutely nothing. Or do you consider Calzaghe GOAT?
