Here is a little series of "behind the scenes" episodes that were done on this boxers life, trying to make it in boxing. Some notable people are in the videos. I think its worth a check, the vids were linked to miguel cotto's forum...Feel free to check it out if time allows:smoke....enjoy

Yeah..I think its humbling to see the life of a professional boxer giving it his all to succeed in such a brutal sport and struggling with his own life at the same time. Boxing is such a gamble, You either make it and hit gold or you fail and have nothing to fall back on. Once again I got mad props for Juan Diaz for trying to juggle an education with a boxing career!

@ 4:00 of episode 5...Gato shows the type of chin hes got...May not be getting hit by a power puncher...But that **** was ridiculous haha...I think all his hard sparring and James Toney like attitude as far as just taking punches flush on the head is having its effect on his speech. Either way its good ****.

How does no one care about This up and comer? lol. They should hook up Figueroa vs Forbes. I think El Gato starches him....If you catch these little mini episodes, you'll see how rugged and tough this ******* is. He gets hit to much, but he is so fkn strong.

Hes got 2 losses from earlier when he first started. Just under 20 wins about. I love his style, He gets hit too much but hes a fun as hell style to watch IMO. He has a granite chin from what we see here in all the sparring.

19-2 13KO*...These vids are like a little inside look at how tough an up and coming non recognized boxer has to live like.

Buddy McGirt and Paulie Malignaggi also show up in the videos.. There are 11 of them so far.

I'll check it out. He can go places if he sharpens up his defense. That welterweight guy didn't look too bad either.

One of the middle vids, he is sparring a tall lanky guy that had some speed and leverage into his punches....Gato does a sustained "mayorga" type of deal where he is just taking hooks and straight punches dead on his chin, like about 6 or 7 straight on punches and Gato takes them standing straight upright. lol, if a guy like that doesn't pump people up to watch IDK what could... btw I think all the hardcore sparring is going to eventually catch up to this guy, he takes a beating and keeps on ticking but eventually his speech will take a ****. :patsch

    Thanks for the links!

I don't have high hopes for Figueroa, but it's always interesting to watch a documentary about any boxer's life and training. I wish networks that show boxing would show more things like this, it could really help out the sport and make people care about who they're watching.
