Kessler held too big time. In fact, he tried keeping Ward from fight off. Ward lunged in and held too, almost instinctively, but tried fighting out of it more. So I doesn't see much of the complaint. Ref got it right with the last cut and called it a headbutt. Ward was the better man. Face it.

you can make a case if kessler was winning the fight, but he wasn't. kessler was getting handled, plain and simple. too slow, too predictable, and too timid. this a rough sport where head butts are prone to happening, they may be supreme athletes but at the end of the day they're still human. you can call him a clown and a ***** all you want, your just gonna have to live with the fact that kessler was exposed as an ordinary, limited fighter tonight. the more you deny it, i think its safe to assume you are indeed a clown.

Ward got wild and launched amatuerishly at times, but he wanted to engage on the inside at times. He has a habit of lunging in and then holding as defense. It's cunning, but at the same time Kessler didn't give effort to engage inside and looked uncomfortable. When you lunge and miss, clinching isn't such a bad thing. Kessler was doing jack **** anyway. The head butts followed obviously didn't help. Just give Ward his dues, he proved you wrong and out-fight Kessler. It's not a black eye.

 

You're overacting. Just like most of the other reasonable posters will tell you. Go on if you wish, but you'll continue to make a fool of yourself if you believe Kessler had viability in this fight or was doing anything worthwhile pre and post cuts.

 

No, Ward gets two points, not three. Did you watch the end of the telecast? The fight went to the cards and you get the extra point for a KO / TKO. This was a TD. The fight was stopped due to cuts caused by a butt so they went to the cards.
