    Enough said. A calorie is just a unit of measure. It doesn't tell you the benefits or cons of the value of nutritional content you are putting in your body.

    Very simplistically, think of your car you want to fuel it with ethanol and have the engine underperform? Or you want to fuel it with premium gasoline as it was made for. You can fill both with the same amount but one will have better results because it is optimal

    So no its not as simple as a calorie is a calorie so eat whatever u want as long as its the right amount. Keep eating your veggies like you have your whole life as you stated earlier.

    even your common sense knows that this is a kind of a silly notion

    A calorie is a calorie....so ask the person who told you this, if cutting calories by cutting protein, fibre and fat - and then getting your daily caloric intake in French fries and cake is a good idea.

    Then slap her in the face and ask her what box of *******-jacks she got her licence or certification from.

    Huh? The doctor said a calorie is a calorie regardless of where it's from, that's a fact.

    From what TC said that's all that was said. I don't see any point where the doc recommended eating any type of food, hence the reason I'm confused as to why people are reacting so OTT.

    This is the part specifically: "....a calorie is a calorie it doesn't matter where it comes from it's a calorie he said that if I chose to eat a bag of potato chips or an apple it does'nt matter because it was a calorie."

    So this implies we're wasting our time and effort trying to eat healthy food, because all calories are the same.

    Are you seriously not seeing anything wrong with this, or are we just getting into semantics?

    There's so much to know here and not all of it is simple, but here's a reason to skip the waffles and whipped cream:

    The body breaks down a lot of foods into sugar: bread, potatoes and alcohol (as in alcoholic beverages) being some of the prime culprits. And many foods, of course contain sugars that the body doesn't have to break down (candies, fruits, fruit juices, etc.).

    Ok, so what?

    Well, sugar intake is, for want of a better term, addictive. When your body takes in sugar (in direct form or in the form of something that the body breaks down into sugars), it craves more sugar. It makes you want more, and, in almost all cases, you will eventually give in and give your body what it craves.

    Studies have shown that a child who eats course oatmeal (not the instant kind), which contains less sugars and is more difficult for the body to break down, and say, tomato juice or V8 for breakfast will eat a lot less (and a lot less 'bad' food) over the course of the rest of the day than one who has sugar cereal like Fruit Loops or Frosted Flakes and a glass of orange juice.

    So when you indulge in high-calorie, high-sugar foods ... you'll find that you're more likely to intake more calories over the course of the day and thus it will be harder to cut weight.

    That doesn't mean avoid sugars entirely. It means eat the right kinds and less of them.

    And just out of curiosity, for your own benefit, you should probably ask this "Doctor" what all the consequences (long-term and short-term) there are for taking HGH and whatever PEDs they are pumping into your body. How old are you? What kind of long-term studies are there on the effects of taking the things you're taking in the dosages that you're taking them can they help you find.

    If the doctor doesn't tell you exactly what is being put into your body in what dosages and what kind of effects that might have on you, he should probably have his license pulled.

    It's your body. If what you've posted is genuine, you damned well better know what you're allowing to be put in your body. You are the one who has to live with it. You might win more fights now, but you also might be the guy that has a heart attack at 40, depending upon what you're pumping into your body.

    Find out what substances in what doses (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) you're taking, ask the doctor and then do your own research. If you find the doctor lying or, pardon the term, sugar-coating anything ... well whether you want to turn the doctor in so no one else gets pumped up with something dangerous, at least find another doctor who is willing to be honest with you.

    Might also want to ask if these substances are illegal, and if he says, "Not with a doctor's prescription," ask him if the drugs are supposed to be prescribed for the purposes of gaining an athletic advantage or if they are supposed to be used in medical ways.

    In no way shape or form does this person imply that you should eat unhealthy food, they're simply pointing out the fact that a calorie is a calorie no matter the source.

    Just finished with my appointment with the specialist and he tells me that in regards to diet. There's nothing that indicates diet effects hormonal change and that weight is stable so if one goes over their bodies natural weight their appetite will diminish until the weight is stable.

    In simple terms, a calorie is a calorie....and in terms of losing weight, if you are in a caloric deficit you will lose weight regardless of whether you have consumed solely whole foods or all fast foods, you still lose weight....on the other hand, if you are in a caloric surplus and you consume more than you use, you will gain weight, regardless of the types of food you got the calories from. 5000 cals worth of veggies is still 5000 cals. The difference in the foods comes from the nutritional advantages, such as added vitamins, minerals and fibre...for example, a whole orange may contain the same amount of sugar and calories as a small bowl of ice cream, but it will have addition vitamins in fibre that your body will need.

    I agree a calorie is a calorie but if you use good foods to fuel your body it will be better.
    You would not get **** fuel for a ferrari you would get the best oil and petrol or what ever.
    The body is the same fuel up with good foods.

    A pound is a pound also. What would do your body better: A pound of a good mixed salad or a pound of horse ****? You have to figure the nutritional value of the calories. Are they nutrient dense or are they empty calories? I would not think about PEDs if I were you until I had an understanding basic human nutrition. Regarding supplements, start with a multivitamin and work your way up.

    It sounds like you're sold on eating waffles. I suggest you pig out for a week on whatever you want and then come tell us the result of doing so.

    Yes, on second thought you are right. Forget about the vitamin supplements and eat waffles. I am sure that will put you in fighting fit in no time. No doubt your medical/nutritional advisor knows more than those advising today's top ranked fighters.
