I agree that GGG should accept whatever weight Canelo wants to fight him at, because I think Golovkin still wins. Even if they made it at 155 I kinda get the impression that Canelo might struggle to get to that weight more than GGG.

I don't agree that Canelo should duck the fight though. I think he can take the loss, and it would damage his reputation more by not fighting him.

Like De La Hoya, I can see Canelo still keeping his drawing power regardless of a few L's against elite fighters.

**** that.... Enough of that garbage. This has to stop. If this is a MW title fight then it should be contested at MW. Simple as that really.....

If it's the only way the fight is going to happen then Golovkin should do it. Nobody else other than Cotto who won't fight GGG In Golovkin's division, or the division above or below will get GGG that kind of exposure that will make him a cross over star or give him that kind of payday.

Do you think fighting either Cotto or Canelo would make him a cross over star if he isnt already?

I mean how many people who know who Cotto or Canelo is dont know who GGG is?

Neither Cotto nor Canelo are cross over stars, they are not known outside of peope who follow boxing

If Golovkin isnt a cross over star already i cant see what annihilating either of these two would do to change that. It says more about the state of boxing

Floyd and Wladimir, the constant ducking of the best fights and the shady corruption in general have done the sport a great deal of harm

No, not so be it. After Canelo gets his BS voluntary he either takes the fight or gets stripped. This kind of attitude is why they jackasses get away with this kind of thing.

No, GGG could become a household name if he beat's Canelo. Canelo and Cotto did big numbers so fans are invested in those two more than GGG at this

OK, so Canelo gets stripped and they give his belt to GGG. I'm sure that will help Golovkins drawing power immeasurably.

They do big numbers cause Mexico and PR have large boxing fanbases. Every person who bought that fight sure as hell knows who Gennady Golovkin is, and knows what he would do to either of their guys

But look at the numbers Pacquiao did before and after De La Heya. Beating a top star increases your drawing power

I agree that GGG has to play along with the diva terms if he wants to become a big money star. But 155 is ridicuolus man. Canelo is basically saying that "if you want the middleweight title, you have to come down to super welterweight." They should bargain for at least 157.

So, your saying, IF YOU were Canelo's team, you'd do just like previous titlists teams, ie Martinez, Pirog, Sylvester, Geale, Chavez Jr, Sturms, Soliman, etc etc etc, and SWERVE GGG like the plague.

But you believe GGG should look to fight the guy who's initial career aspirations were to follow in the GOATs shoes and start at MW, make a quick stop at SMW then campaign and take over his natural weight class of LHW to eventually move ALL the WAY to HW and steal a title there as well. :patsch:patsch:patsch

If GGG wants to fight LHWs he should go right after the best LHW in the world, not some can crushing punk who drags ppl up and down to fight him. :good

:D:lol: VERY WELL DONE, RUMSFELD !!! :happy

:think I agree with most everything you said except that...

I see NO REASON why GGG should meet Canelo weight !!!

Let the WBC strip the belt from Canelo if he refuses to meet GGG @ the governed weight for a Middle Weight championship fight.

O$CAR wants no part of GGG near term, so I really don't expect a fight in 2016.

:happy MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!! :happy
