Agreed. Golovkin needs a fight with someone like Canelo. Golovkin's style is all wrong for Canelo, it's a huge payday, it's a huge "legacy fight", and it could potentially raise his star power more than any other individual fight out there.

They should bargain for every fraction of a pound they can get. But I still think the higher priority should be getting Canelo to agree to fight anyway they can. Assuming Canelo can safely make 155, I think he still outclasses and overpowers an overmatched Canelo.

You didn't really follow what I was saying. I said if I was GGG's people I would do anything I could to land the Canelo fight, and I said if I was working with Canelo's people, I would do anything I could to avoid the fight.

My personal preference, however, would be Ward-Golovkin and Canelo vs Jacobs, Lee, or Saunders, because I think Canelo-Golovkin is a gross mismatch, whereas I think the other fights are interesting match-ups.

That's how I see the possible fight too but what kind of a shape GGG would be in @155 is still a question mark. He said he'd make 154 for Mayweather/Pacquaio but he probably knew he wasn't getting those fights when he called them out.

That said, I think team GGG will eventually agree to a fight somewhere around 156-157. Then It'll be interesting to see what De la Hoya will do to get Canelo out of the fight.

I have no doubt that the WBC will continue playing ball with DLH without forcing the issue to make the fight. Depending on who Canelo faces next, I can foresee more exceptions forthcoming.

How many times was Golovkin promised the winner of X vs Y? Wasn't he originally promised the winner of Sergio-Cotto, and then Cotto-Geale, and then Cotto-Canelo? :think

I'll take Bradley vs Khan, please. :D

In all seriousness, I've always liked that match-up and thought it was a clash of styles that would make for a great fight, and all these years later, I still believe that.

Yeah, you're right. But there's no guarentee Canelo wouldn't lose to someone like Jacobs, Lemieux, Saunders and they can't just keep seeking for welterweights with high name value so I think Golovkin will become the biggest money fight for Canelo eventually :conf

And I agree that Bradley vs Khan would be a great fight.

With all the fools who post on here on the negative side about Golovkin....It's great to See Rummy can talk common sense....having said that Canelo has no chance against Golovkin....He is flat footed a tad slow and stands front on when He fights....If and that's a Big if...he lasts 12 rounds with Golovkin it would destroy His pretty boy looks....don't think His own Mother would would be able recognise Him.!!!!

And I hope You and Your Family have a Great and Safe Christmas Rummy...and keep up the Great work in 2016 I really look forward to Your Post's.!!!
