    The location most certainly had to do with it, if this fight took place in Russia Kovalev would have won by 9 or 10 rounds, and everyone here would be crying about how biased the Russian judges were.

    So a fight in US results in a close fight on scorecards but in Russia they would screw everyone over by a huge margin? You always harp on about the anti-Russian media in the west (which is kind of true to be honest) but here you are confirming the western media's view by admitting Russia are biased?

    I don't get the point you are trying to make. Russia are corrupt as hell so everyone else is too? If fights in Russia would result in the home fighter winning by a landslide how come Wlad beat Povetkin in Russia?

    Now had Kovalev won in Russia I am sure you're right there would be idiots claiming robbery on the US side when in reality it was a close fight that could of gone either way.

    A fight anywhere else would result in a much clearer Kovalev victory, I was simply stating Russia as an example as the Russians probably would have given the much better scorecards that reflected Kova's victory. Well at least you finally admit that the Western Media paints Russia as the boogeyman, they even say Russia is a bigger threat than Islamic terrorism from ISIS. Well anyway If you think the fight was close so be it.

    You agree the scoring was suspect but wouldn't change the result? All three judges scored it 114-113. The slightest change to these 'suspect' cards changes the outcome, you do realise that right?

    Before the fight I thought it'd be a Kovalev KO or dominant points win for Ward. Either way I just wanted a fair outcome. I don't think we got one.

    I'd also pick Ward fairly confidently in a rematch but that still wouldn't tell the story of the first fight.

    The judges scoring was suspect because Kovalev didn't win round 10, or anything after 6 (whichever round it was). I ultimately came to the same score as the judges but with different rounds.

    I've rewatched the fight trying to maximise Ward's work and play down Kovalev's and still could only come up with a close Kovalev win.

    yeh seeing as kovalev won by about 3-4 rounds and he hits like a mule, joshua needs to keep his belts in the Land Of The Great & Mighty.

    i think britian should operate under the same system as america, three british judges for world title fight in england, in the interest of fairness

    Punch stats prove the fight was not a robbery!

    In terms of rounds, each fighter had landed more punches than their opponent in 6 rounds, an even fight but, Kovalev gets an extra point for the knockdown in round 2! I gave Kovalev the nod in the fight. People need to stop crying that the fight was a "robbery" The punch stats prove that the fight was extremely close! Any objective viewer realizes this.

    I've read claims stating that Kovalev doubled the landed punches of Ward.....WRONG!!!
    I've read claims were Kovalev landed more punches in more rounds....WRONG!!!

    So by looking at the punch stats, where do people get that the fight was a robbery? A very close fight but, no robbery! And please don't try to come back with power punches! In every round the guy that landed the most shots, landed more power punches. So remember, a fight is scored by rounds won not total punches or power punches landed

    Kovalev won the fight, next time he will knock Ward out cold. Ward is trying to get out of the rematch clause, but the clause is clearly legal............................SOB is a cheat..........................

    Close fight. Wouldn't have mattered who the judges awarded it to the other side would have bleated and cried foul.

    Yes this is true. So many fanboys and nut huggers out there incapable of scoring fights with impartiality, these are the worst type of sports fans.
