Have been watching these in the past couple of weeks and it's made me very confident about Froch's chances. Dirrell has fast hands but seems to fall in love with showing off his handspeed rather than acheiving much accuracy or precision. He's also a bit reckless and doesn't have great defence. I hate the way he consistently walks straight backwards with his opponent stalking him. When you do that you eventually get trapped in a corner, as seen in the first ten seconds of the Hanshaw fight. Froch is an accurate punchpicker and hits a bloody sight harder than Hanshaw. If he tagged Dirrell in the first ten seconds like Hanshaw did, Dirrell wouldn't make it out of the first round. When I envisage this fight I can see Dirrell being able to slip some punches and land some counters, but we already know Froch doesn't mind taking punches. What I can't see is how Dirrell can keep Froch off of him for any length of time.
Blinding analysis. So are you planning to ever back up any of your unsupported contentions with any actual reasoned arguments? I mean there's this one, Calzaghe would lose to all of the super six, Ward beats Kessler, Williams knocks out Pavlik early, Berto destroys Mosley, take your pick....
Froch wins. End of story. Dirrrel just doesn't have enough lateral movement to keep himself away from trouble and not the chin to stand up to blows either.
After watching videos it is apparent that Dirrell not only has skills but he can fight in the trenches. It aint gonna be easy for either guy and it will probably take alot out of the winner as well as the loser.
Froch might be the single most overrated boxer in the sport today. He's been handed that easiest opening round match of the tournament. Every other boxer is meeting far more experienced fighters. Froch is also a champion and Dirrel has done little. It speaks volumes about Froch as a fighter that people are even debating this fight. Fact is, everyone knows that Froch is very beatable. He looked beatable against Taylor and he's looked beatable before.
He better hope he doesn't get knocked out after winning 9 or 10. Which is a scenario that may happen. Altough I don't see him winning a shutout by that point.
