Alright, I watched the fight on Epix and they didnt provide a good enough angle where we could see the legs of Solis after getting hit. I do believe that Solis was hit, wobbled and fell. I cannot deny that. It was the same glancing blow that put Eddie Chambers down.

BUT, there is no denying Solis could not continue because of the knee, not the effect of the punch. Here is a close look with a good angle.

If you pause the video at 48 seconds, you can clearly see his left leg is bent at the knee towards the right, and it looks pretty nasty. Knees dont bend sideways like that.

This thread is not to claim Solis deserves a no contest, because he was knocked down and the injury occurred because of that, but its just to clear up on whether he took a dive or not.

I believe Klitschko landed on the "button". The chances of this happening in a rematch is unlikely, we have seen Solis take shots harder than those. I was happy with the first round, Solis was able to connect some good shots. It was towards the end of the round and if Solis had not obtained that injury, he would have been able to get up and survive the round and get back into the fight. It was an unfortunate freak accident and a letdown to all.

Like i said, on the button. Same with chambers. Same happened to Kirkland last night against that bum, although he didnt fall he got wobbled. On the button punches just have to be on the button, not always thrown with force.

Solis hurt himself on the way down. I agree 100%.

He went down cause he got wobbled, and was wobbled that it ****ed up his balance and legs. Im surprised it doesn't happen more often actually.

I agree, and I was so disappointed by all of this. I would like to see a rematch, and if it does happen (unlikely, Vitali may even retire by then) hopefully Solis could come in even lighter.

It's actually by rule a TKO.

He got injured because he got knocked down.

In that case every knockout loss inside 4 would be a NC because people would automatically grab their legs or arms and pretend injury.

  12. It's been said already but thats a TKO bro. Solis couldn't continue due to being knocked down awkwardly by one of those freak temple shots. Kind of a let down but it is what it is.
