Used to get "hoagies" in Philly after we visited my grand father in Wilmington.

Funny only Philly and South Jersey use that term “hoagie”...or at least I think so. I like Wilmington, and have lived up and down the Delmarva peninsula on the eastern shore...the eastern shore of MD is still the best place I ever lived. The seafood there is the best...no offense to your NY seafood lol

If Usyk gets to 49-0, people will still give serious responses that Rocky had the better resume.

I doubt it because he will likely have faced some hellacious comp on his way...I also doubt that he achieves that due to his age and the amount of fights per year he would need.

The people who think that old “ATGs” were superheroes would just argue that Usyk is inferior because he didn’t beat any.

Yeah, but largely I see similar attacks against Marciano and many others on here. Most people are looking with an agenda to elevate or denigrate certain fighters, rather than contrasting fairly on both sides.

I try to enjoy all fighters and can only think of 3,that I irrationally underrate lol...so I try not to enter to many threads about Zarate Bazooka Gomez and Julian Jackson lol

He had 5 WSB fights too, which IMO should be counted as pro bouts.

Especially as one of them was against a middling Italian who was 15-0 (and is still ‘undefeated’ in the pro ranks) and Usyk battered and stopped him.

He also went on to beat Nistor, who won the AIBA Pro title (which AIBA recognises as pro bouts...but they do not get recognised as such by Boxrec)

So really Usyk served his apprenticeship the wrong way round. He faced better guys in the WSB, then journeyman cruiserweights, before stepping it up again to world level at the lighter weight.

It is hard to see what your point is.

If you are trying to argue that Usky did more sooner, then I doubt that anybody would dispute it.

My point is he is a seasoned fighter not some wet behind the ear green kid,who was fed a diet of no hopers like Rocky was in his early outings.

    This.

Marciani didn't get real oppoisition till about 2/3 into his career. You would only count Lastarza 1 thru the reflexive property that Lastarza became a name for bothering Marciani and therefore was quality. Not much more on his resume backs that

Any observation that Marciano was matched easy in his early outings, must be tempered by the fact that he was matched to lose in some of his very early fights.
