A couple of interesting and more fair Marciano matchups imo

How impressive was it to floor a green Frazier? Tomato can Michael Bruce did it. When bonavena fought a prime december 1968 joe Frazier, he didn’t come close to flooring him

Bonavena never displayed one punch power like this

    Young loses by unanimous.
    Norton stopped about 9.
Williams v Marciano turns out similar to the Marciano v Moore battle ,with Rock down and hurt but coming back.
Oscar loses by decision but proves awkward and durable.
Weaver has Rocky hurt several times but ends up ko d mid way .

A prime Cleveland Williams would be a dangerous fight for the Rock, I'm not saying he would win , but the chance of getting nailed and dropped by Williams is there. He's probably the worst on this list , but dangerous.

He gets a draw against Oscar. That's about the best I can say.

Now even I think that's harsh.

I would say decision over Oscar

Decision or tko win over young depending on how brave young feels

Toss up against Williams. Big chance for an upset.

    Toss up vs prime Weaver

And late tko loss vs Norton.
I don't think Marciano is an early round threat to a 215 lb conditioned Norton the way foreman or shavers was. And Norton wasn't someone who was stopped late you had to go for him early and Rocky never started that fast and even if he did I don't see him overwhelming Norton who can just spoil and survive with his size by grabbing him even if he should get hurt

It's really hard to say .. Young had a terrific chin and was an ugly spoiler .. he's still have size and reach and speed on Rocky ..

Norton might bust him up or get caught ..

Williams who knows .. favor Rocky

Bonavena would be a war but Rocky by decision ...

Weaver would be outbox him and then get caught .. dicey chin ..

A draw against Bonavena? He should be favored over all these guys pretty heavily

Didn’t a 37 year old swarming Patterson beat bonavena?

And what makes you pick Cleveland Williams over marciano?

MIke weaver weighed 202lb vs Holmes...is that too big for marciano?

I think Seamus is joking. He rates marciano as the greatest head to head fighter of all time below 200lb..

I doubt the 202lb weaver and 205lb bonavena prove an impossible task for marciano in Seamus’s eyes based on a 2-4lb difference in his cut off weight

I miss the old days when you thought Marciano could beat everyone, although your current views are probably a bit more realistic

    Who me?

I still think Marciano beats anyone under 190lb in history. That means I rate him incredibly high p4p head to head.

I still think he beats a number of heavyweights post 1960, just not the best ones who were too big and athletic for a 185lb man

Putting Marciano in fantasy matchups against 6’4 240lb behemoths who were very athletic isn’t very fair to the man

There were plenty of big heavyweight pre 1960 and many of them made it into the top 10. I think its only in the 80s and 90s that the big ones improve to the extent that past greats cant compete.

For example Max Baer was actually slightly bigger than Ali and Liston and he was arguably the best heavyweight in the world for years prior to the emergence of Joe Louis. Louis himself was almost as big as Ali with only a few pounds seperating them at their peaks.

Max Baer did not possess a lot of boxing ability he was very crude compared to a Liston
