If Pacquiao knocked Mosley out as quickly as Tua knocked Ruiz out, he STILL wouldn't get credit. It doesn't matter what he does. If Manny wins, he beat a old man...if he gets beat, he got beat by an old man. The fight makes NO SENSE and is a COMPLETE waste of time.

But like others have said T, outside of Mayweather/Martinez it doesn't matter, people who want to pick holes in opponents will do it anyway.

I want Berto, an undefeated title holder is the obvious choice, but if it's Shane **** it I'm watching.

I'm sure he can. But Pac and Marquez has the same size when fully hydrated. So what for?

Agree with the TS. JMM is the fight to make @ 140 preferably. Shane is one of my favorite fighters, as is JMM, but, JMM earned his chance. He came off a similar beating from Floyd that Shane did. But, he came back with 2 VERY impressive wins.

IMO Martinez is too big physically for this fight, I'd rather see him clean up at MW first, but if Pacquiao has a belt at 154 he should be prepared to fight fighters at that weight to defend it. To be fair to him, I'd expect him to take that fight if it was offered, I just don't see Roach wanting to take the risk against a guy so much naturally bigger and Arum won't because there's bigger money/lower risk fights out there. I disagree to an extent about Marquez though, he is getting older but he hasn't shown many signs of slowing down and with his style I would expect him to cause Manny some problems

This is something a lot of people haven't got there head around yet. Sure Marquez is campaigning at 135 now and Pac will head back to 147, but if they both weigh around 147 when fully hydrated on fight night then there is no reason for them to fight at a lower weight just so they have to cut down and re-hydrate. 147 would be fine when considering the fight night weights

The problem is, Marquez's trainer hasn't got his head around it either. He tried to bulk JMM up for the Mayweather fight and ended up adding about 7lbs of fat. He would've been much better off training as if the fight were at 135 and coming into the ring ~142 like usual. I'm convinced that, even though Pacquiao is a smaller opponent, they'll do the same thing again.

I agree, as well. Good post. I was saying something similar earlier this week.
