Is there one ??simple question ,is there a decade Louis wouldn't be able to win the heavyweight title in .?
For argument sake we'll stick with the Linear belt

Probably not until the future? Let’s say in the year 2957 they allow robots to compete for the championship. Until then he is the REAL GOAT

    No.

Even if he came up against the worst possible match in the champion, he would get around them based on longevity.

It would have been difficult during the time both Klitschkos held all the belts. But that wasn't a decade.

Its hard to think of one tbh , even the 70s as good as it was , you had old Ali at the back end who Joe would beat. The 90s when holy field was losing to moorer, then old Foreman , Louis defeats those I believe .Then Lewis retired , the title was vacant a while before the K brothers came along. Right now as it stands I struggle to think of a decade he doesn't get a win over at least one champ.

Even if we assume that he could beat neither of them, that is just a four year window, with heaps of weakness before and after it!

He was a real quality fighter. I agree that even with the weight disadvantage against the big guys, he'd have the beating of a whole bunch of them.

If he comes up around 62/64, and you see him losing to Frazier, he will miss it.

He would still beat Patterson Liston & Ali befor Frazier takes the belt in the new FOTC

I see him losing to Ali, but beating Frazier. Since most see him losing to Ali, is would depend on Frazier afterwards.

That’s the point of hypotheticals...I see him beating Ali and losing to Frazier. I rank Ali number 2 but don’t find him as unbeatable as many boxing fans

sometime when the rules of boxing were significantly different for his skillset not to thrive - a time in the 18th century, when boxing was punching over a drawn line.

Bear in mind that he is dangerous over a fifteen year span.

So at what point does the Louis of the Braddock fight drop in here?

The problem is no one except louis himself had a firm grasp on all the belts for such a long stretch of time. There are several men who would have been competetive/and or beat a prime louis, but in any given decade from the 30's till now, there were plenty of belt holders louis could have demolished and gotten a strap.
