From 78-85 he could win a belt, but he would not become THE champ.

Joe Louis beat all styles & sizes & shades. I still see him overall as the Greatest ever.

He could & would have trouble with some of the better men of the ages & was historically better in rematches but we have not yet seen an era in boxing where the Brown Bomber would not have a dominant position, he was that great.

there is no decade he wouldnt.

If you asking which one would be benefit most from, it would be gassing giants one of today, he can far outpace them and might well reign for 15 years unperturbed.

He could certainly handle 70s Ali and worse case scenario he would just take the belt from Leon. I also don’t see him struggling with post FOTC Frazier. I would take him over Foreman as well but could see that going either way

I can actually see him doing that Herol, smashing the big guys in .As I've gotten older I can appreciate more the power of Louis. That been bigger or taller isn't going to win you the fight automatic. Joe had the kind of power that cuts through that bull**** .So yes , he'd be knocking these big fellas out.

Leon Spinks was the champ in 78.

    That looks pretty doable!
