A deliberate ploy by Turpin?

    In the three clips that follow you can see Turpin miss a right hand and then immediately follow up with a left to the head:

    The first clip isn't as clear. I'd noticed the second and third clips before from seeing footage of his fights with Sugar Ray Robinson. It seems as though Turpin is really making no attempt to land the right hand, instead he is using it to set his opponent up for the left hook that follows it.

    Has anyone else noticed this? It seems an unusual ploy but then again Turpin had an unorthodox style.
