Emanuel Augustus was a great boxer. of old school type.
often robbed in the score cards.
he took many ranked boxers on short notice. could compete with the best . but was used as an opponent for prospect & contenders mostly.

If any fighter deserves to be in the hall of fame, its Emmanuel Augustus. His motto was Anyone , Anywhere, Anytime, just give me time to get there. He epitomizes the sport. If only he'd taken himself seriously & had a team behind him he could have been a champion. He knew going into opponents back yards he knew he was going to get robbed but he still loved every minute. Another fighter from the same cloth was Buck Smith. Check his record & how often he fought. He';s been known to fight twice the same night when another fighter backed out
Compare these guys to todays pampered & protected Divas
    These guys were REAL fighters
