We have a lot of people saying well Cotto doesn't call out PBF and Arum never made an offer. Well let's take DLH everyone wants to fight him so he is being able to pick and choose who he wants to fight and when he wants to fight them. Basically DLH is the "shot-caller" It is up to DLH to make the fights. Everyone is calling him out and wants to fight him. Well know PBF is the "shot-caller." At least he claims he is. So he decides who he fights and when he fights. Just like DLH. If he wanted the Cotto fight he would make it. Since he doesn't want the fight he wont make it. So he retires. So if anyone is to blame for that fight NOT happening is Floyd Mayweather JR.
Yes, what a different take. PBF is responsible for the fight not happening. I've not read that perspective before.
You can't compare Hoya to Mayweather on this issue. "I want Floyd," that's all Cotto had to say, even once, in front of a camera for the ducking issue to be a real issue. We've heard Cotto call out DLH. We've heard his team say they wanted a fight with DLH but never say Mayweather. When asked about Mayweather Cotto would always answer without answering. "Mayweather is just a boxer to me," or "to be the best you fight the best." Mayweather called out Hoya for years at the end of every fight.
"Calling out" is overrated anyway. The real "calling out" is when your management goes into legitimate negotiations with the other camp.
Yout right on the ball 100% mate:good. but i think this is the only perspective here. no1 sed cotto was ducking floyd:rofl
It was Cotto's uncle who said he would like to have a fight with DLH, u cant really blame him for that, after all, Oscar is the biggest purse for anyone in the boxing game... Mayweather is the second... Cotto has said he wants Floyd, just not in front of a camera what he has shown in front of the camera is his willingness to fight anyone and mention that he is ready for the best. i really think his trying not to put Floyd on a pedestale and instead just hints to Floyd that he is there ready and willing.
I guess by just you mean 5 fights and 2 years ago... then... ya or if by just you mean it was a close fight... ok... i think we can all agree cotto is a better fighter then the one that fought torres, malignaggi, and chop chop... :huh
