I dont think he stops Murray, Murray is one tough SOB, I mean look how long it took GGG and GGG is far better at cutting off the ring, Canelo would win a clear decision.

 

He'd destroy all the C level guys on GGG's resume easily. None of the guys GGG beat will give Canelo a competitive fight. You can quote me on that, and bump this when it happens, Canelo might play the "i'm the draw", come down to 155 card though, but if guys are claiming he's bigger than GGG, and all these other MWs, they should go down to that weight, if Canelo who is bigger is making those weight, why can't guys smaller than him make it .

 

Murray coming back down to probably a CW would diminish his chances at seeing 12 against Canelo.. i doubt Murray goes back to 160 though, and I think Hes staying at 168 from here on out.

 

Yeah Murray would be drained to death at 155, and he wouldnt see 12, but I dont think he'd be drained going back down to 160. I think he might retire after taking that loss to Abraham, or maybe a couple of easy fights to make some dough, Murray's career is pretty much over, I don't see him getting a title shot for a long time if ever.

 

155 is technically MW anyways, and im not overating him imo, im saying he beats anyone at 160 convincingly at MW except GGG.. I truly believe that and alot of people would agree.

I'm not cool with catchweights, but if GGG can SAFELY shed a few lbs to make it happen then he should. I'm scared that Canelo drops the belt and we don't get to see it.

 

I don't think Murray could make 160 again tbh. He looked huge against GGG. If he had more of a punch he'd be pretty dangerous.

 

I hope not.. But I think Canelo is willing to fight GGG but it has to be on his terms. Also GGG was willing to fight Floyd at 154 and said that weight was not a problem, so if he can do it for Floyd he can do it for Canelo.. That fight will be Huge!!!

 

Well everybody wants to fight Floyd for the biggest pay day of their lives, even Bhop (lol) so that's not saying much. I think that maybe Golovkin might make 157? "Just to make the fight"? Otherwise he will have to settle for the belt.

Actually, thinking about it, Canelo's options are also limited. What's he going to do without the belt? Go back down to 154? I'm thinking that his days of draining huge amounts of weight off are coming to an end. And then at 160 waits GGG with all the belts.

I suspect that the next 14 days are going to see much brinksmanship

 

I suspect this part is a semi-troll but I'll bite.

Because a) some people are just naturally better at or able to cut more weight. See Chavez Jr and Margo at 147. Also b) Ability to cut weight seems to reduce with age (aside from naturally getting heavier) and as the younger guy he can cope with it better.

Looking at Canelo at his weigh ins and on fight night he is clearly a natural MW now but he is trying to maintain the illusion that he is the smaller man vs 160 lbers. I think he is doing this for negotiation purposes assuming his opponents will be worse effected by cutting extra weight than he will. Also gives him a built in excuse should he lose.

 

True everyone wants Floyd, But the only other guy who can bring Big money like Floyd is Canelo. So if Canelo says 155 or no fight, GGG might have no choice but to take the offer. Otherwise it's back to fighting C level guys while the WBC falls back on their word again.

It's a bad resume for a guy that is probably slowly fading and past it already. He can have all the ability in the world, but it's impossible to compare him to greats like Hopkins, Hagler and Monzon if that's how his resume looks like. He better start gunning for the big fights quickly.

On a side note, why does it take ages for Eastern Euro talents and guys like GGG to hit the world scene? :roll:
