Truth is GGG has never fought anyone of Canelos Pedigree, and Canelo has never fought anyone with the Power of GGG which is why this fight is the biggest fight to be made.. I think canelo Can Beat GGG, i honestly do. Remember Skills Pay bills and Canelo has shined against far better competition than GGG has.. That has to be considered when they finally mix it up, hopefully next year sometime. Canelo is the make or Break fight for GGG..:deal

I could not see any other fighter at middle getting much more than a 50% KO ratio against them never mind 100%.

 

Yeah, the 2nd tier names on his resume aren't worse than any of the 2nd tier names on others, although, looking at the list of those compared, Judah and Margarito were better wins than any of those.

GGG gets a lot of flack for circumstances seemingly beyond his control. At some point, he'll have to bite the bullet and move up to get bigger, more test-worthy fights. With Ward and Froch now out of SMW, the landscape isn't exactly fertile. Kind of stuck in the middle.

 

Canelo has a resume at age 25 that is far superior to any Triple Duck will ever have.

 

the thing what makes GGG so special is he not only beat these rated guys but he made them look like top 200 fighters

no other guys can make these fighters look the way he makes them look around his weight class

 

We'll see how much that helps him in their fight. Maybe Canelo can flash that resume to blind Golovkin to distract him

he has clobbered the same guys that gave other top fighters runs for their money

I agree to an extent with the Bute comparison

hes reigning a while and beating lots of good but not elite guys. Glen Johnson is better than anything Golovkin has done but Golovkin also didn't barely survive the controversial Andrade fight

both men have been long title reign guys who seemed to be put on the outside of their division

Bute was froze out due to the tournament and even then Kessler negotiations failed and Ward flat out avoided the fight

GGG has positioned himself to mandatory spots with Cotto and Sturm who ducked him. Canelo doesn't seem interested and Martinez avoided him too

I say to the idiots that criticize him for not having fought elite guys, he tried. He did everything in his power to get ranked and get positioned but they continue to rail road him

Oh you don't have elite wins I don't have to fight you, well how does he get an elite win if an elite wont fight him

I think it says a lot about GGG's greatness that it takes a guy 2 weights above him and extremely talented to be considered a realistic threat and the only guy remotely calling him out

I would say though that he may have to acquiesce and move up, or take a catchweight at a lower weight. It may not be fair, or right, but it has been done, and will continue to be done.

What I find disgusting is what Cotto was trying to do with the belt and what Canelo may do

Agreed on all counts. At least Cotto always seemed to not want it. I hope Canelo doesn't now start playing keep away. If so, GGG may have no choice but to give in to the demands. I think he beats Canelo at 160 or 155, but there's obviously no way to predict how the drop would affect him.

 

Bottom line. GGG's knockout streak is amazing, and in almost all cases he stopped his man faster than the field stopped the same opponent.

GGG doesn't swing for the fences either, the KO just comes.

 

OP, you could of saved a lot of time with this. Triple G has fought bums and cans his whole career. End of story.
