I apologize if i came across slightly aggressive and sarcastic in my last response, my main issue is that the judges scoring first 4 rounds for Canelo is just wrong. I can't agree with you on that sorry, i try to agree and disagree when debating with people on here. But for me there's no way you can convince me of that. If were gonna come to some type of middle ground, i'll agree that there is an argument that i guess you can give Canelo 1 maybe 2 rounds ? out of the first 4. Even though i personally didn't see it but all 4 ? i'm sorry bud there's no way.

And i think that's the thing that the fans in general don't like. I mean look at this way going into the 12th, the judges had this fight 6-5 for Bivol. And Bivol had to win the 12th round clearly to scrap by a decision, do you honestly think there's nothing wrong in that ?

It's stuff like this that frustrates fans, like 118-110 scorecard in Golovkin fight, the 117-111 scorecard in the Lara fight. I mean you claimed earlier that people who believe judges side with Canelo are delusional, but when you see ridiculous scorecards like that, which is quite a common theme with Canelo fights. What are the fans supposed to think ?

Lastly when i say dominate i don't mean he beat Canelo to a pulp, but he dominated the tactical part of the fight. And for me won very clearly points wise.

OK you seem very reasonable. The only thing I disagree with you on, and this is where the divide really is in terms of how a lot of fans score Canelo fights, is that they don't seem to rate the quality of Canelo's power shots vs the lower quality, less impactful power shots. All power shots are not equal. Bigger better quality power shots, even if his opponent lands more jabs, or as many "lower quality" power shots, are more important to winning a round in the eyes of the judges. Even if Canelo is being out landed in a round, if he's the one loading up on big shots and landing absolute bombs like those uppercuts, then the judges notice those big shots and score rounds based on those big shots.

So yes you can make the argument that Bivol slightly outboxed him in rounds 1-4 BUT Canelo landed the biggest most impactful shots in those rounds and those uppercuts impressed the judges and caused them to score those rounds to Canelo because of it. My opinion about who won those rounds is irrelevent and I understand why people gave some of those rounds to Bivol, but people are acting like they can't understand why Canelo won rounds 1-4. And I'm saying, if you're wondering why, look at those uppercuts, and it's not like Bivol was dominating rounds 1-4. Each of those rounds were very close outside of the uppercuts, so in a close round the judges scored it to the guy who landed the biggest most impressive punches of the round, which in those rounds was Canelo. It shouldn't be a mystery to you why Canelo won rounds, it's not favoritism, it's precisely because of how great and well placed those uppercuts were.

yeah, and gg said he would fight anyone from superwelter to supermiddlewight. As if saying something meant ****.

And probably bivol would fight canelo at 168, I'm not saying the contrary, what I meant is that bivol saying this or that doesnt mean ****.

I agree Canelo's power punches when he does land them, are very effective and eye catching punches. For me normally when i do score fights i do look for the harder cleaner shots, for example Canelo/Golovkin 2 the people who scored this fight for Canelo. Favoured Canelo's power punches over the quantity of Golovkin's jabs.

The issue is in the Bivol fight Canelo's offence was limited and nullified in this fight, by Bivol's tight defence in which Canelo couldn't really find gaps. Nor could he get Bivol on the ropes and work effectively as Bivol mostly kept it at centre ring, unless when Canelo decided to go to the ropes himself. This was part of my argument earlier with the ring generalship.

I mean your saying Canelo landed uppercuts in the first 4 rounds, me personally i didn't see much evidence of it apart from at the end of round 2 i think it was ? Or much evidence of Canelo's clean effective power punches.

As i said i can't really agree with you, that the judges scoring the first 4 rounds for Canelo is reasonable. At most i'll stretch to 2 rounds if were gonna agree to disagree, but anymore than that would just be lying from me because i can't honestly see it. And i think there is something wrong with judges scoring it 4-0 to Canelo, and having Bivol needing to win the 12th round to win the fight is just plain wrong for me.

I haven't really got much else to say on the matter, so i'm gonna take myself out of this thread now and leave it there. And i'll just say i take your points on board, i don't agree with most of it if i'm being honest. But you stated your points in respectful manner even if i don't agree, but atleast we all actually agree Bivol won the fight clearly.

So yeah good sharing some thoughts with you and take it easy.

Understood. Can't have it both ways. But, fans always try that very thing. It's maddening!

imho his strategy was ****. That "hit the arms" strategy is very popular in mexico, but I dont like it. Not because it is not effective, it usually is, but because you dont get points using it. I mean, going to the body gives you points apart from exhausting your oponent and removing his speed. Hitting his arms will remove his speed too and will exhaust him too, but it will give you nothing for the judges to score.

I dont know, it is a personal preference I guess. I dont like and I've never liked this strategy.

Hitting your oponent's hips is different, I think, those punches look like body punches. Punching arms looks like your oponent blocking.

Once canelo saw that bivol was just standing in his shell and that he couldnt reach him, he should have fought a fight to add points and nothing else. One jab, and do nothing else, this round is canelo's unless bivol gets out of his shell to do something more than this single jab that is making canelo win the round. Then canelo can counter him or dodge him or run, any of those options make canelo win this round anyway. He insisted on the arms trying to get his guard down, and bivol is a tough guy, it didnt work, and he got no points either. Until he finally exhausted and lost.

Canelo only punched Bivols arms. So, he didn't win any rounds after all?
In your own words 'but it will give you nothing for the judges to score.

Canelo no marcó con eficacia. Canelo perdió casi todos los asaltos. Llora más.

It's said: "Canelo no PUNTUÓ con eficacia." You are welcome.

Btw, you should try to dominate your native language before trying to speak any other one. Since it seems you cant understand what you read.

It is disgusting, I try to analyze canelo's strategy and what I get is an idiot dragging me to the mud and turning the thread in a stupid conversation abouth nothing.

Sometimes I would burn this ****ing forum to the ground. God damn it. See you tomorrow guys, enough is enough, I call it a day.
