Manny did not invent catch weights. Its been in practice as long as boxing existed so its not new.

How the hell should I know? Probably because he didn't think Marquez was on something. If you're going to fight someone, and you think they're on something, why not ask for more stringent drug testing if you have the ability to do so?

I thought he wanted to clean up the sport, that's all?

I've been fairly critical of Manny's thing with the testing, for reasons everyone's heard a dozen times.

But: There was nothing suspicious about the shot that downed Hatton at all. It was a rip-roaring beauty, thrown at full strength and caught him absolutely flush, right on the button. It would have dropped most fighters from welter all the way down.

The only thing a little bit odd about it is that those kind of shots very rarely land. They're so heavily loaded that most fighters see them coming and defend / avoid them -- or don't leave themselves so open that they get caught by them. That's not Pac's fault, though; it's Ricky's.

The problem I had with the Pacquiao Cotto bout, and the whole catchweight argument. Yes both agreed to a catchweight of 145lbs, fair enough, Pacquiao is allowed to ask Cotto to come down a couple of pounds, and Cotto agreed. But after the catchweight was agreed, Pacquiao's camp, Arum and Roach, wanted Cotto's title on the line. As far as I know, by then everything had been agreed upon and the title was not on the line.
It seemed as though Cotto was forced into defending his title, even the WBO said they would strip Cotto of his title, and then make there bout for the vacant WBO title.

You know there is a lawsuit out there against him. It wouldn't be too smart for him to go around saying he's doing this because he thinks Pac is on something when he has a lawsuit pending against him. Regardless, maybe he does want to clean up the sport. Maybe he got the idea because he thinks Pacquiao is on something, but now wants to set a precedant. Who knows? Regardless, both fighters would be subjected to the same tests. I don't see why Pacquiao is so against doing it.

I wasn't implying that Pacquiao was using preformance enhancers for the Hatton fight. Just pointing out that it has been his only "Monster" win since going past 130.

Manny is not against testing. Don't twist it that way. 3 blood test one right after the fight and unlimited urine testing i believe is enough to detect whatever freaking PED it is.

Quoting Freddie Roach......"They're scared of Manny, they're scared of his power. He'll pass any test in the World."

This before Manny Pacquiao realized that what the tests that Mayweather was asking were legit ones alot more difficult to beat......

What the hell has happened to Freddie Roach's comments back dating to early december?????:lol::lol:

Here's the link......bac then, Roach was laughing it up scoffing at the idea they'd be shaking in their boots at the thought of random blood and urine testing.

What happened to Freddie, why did he change his tune?????:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

That's pretty ****ed up. Though the blame should rest on the WBO.

If he wanted to clean the sport up then there shouldn't be any exceptions. Marquez should also have been requested to do the same tests along with all his former foes. Just like the justice system you can't have didn't people on different systems. This is where Mayweather fails.
